Providing nearly 100,000 seedlings to Que Phong people

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of November 4, Pu Hoat Nature Reserve provided more than 99,000 seedlings to people in Que Son and Tien Phong communes, Que Phong district.

This time, more than 120 poor households and households with special difficulties in the two communes of Que Son and Muong Noc were provided with 99,300 Australian Acacia trees, worth more than 109 million VND, by Pu Hoat Nature Reserve. These are seedlings under the project "Investment to support production development in Que Phong district in the period 2009 - 2015".

Seedlings delivered to people must meet the following standards: 4 months old, over 40cm tall, root collar diameter over 4mm, good quality, free of pests and diseases, meeting the standards for planting. In order for the seedling support program to be effective, the unit's technical staff has surveyed and instructed people on how to prepare the soil, dig holes, ensure the distance between trees, rows, planting and care techniques, etc.

It is expected that by the end of November, Pu Hoat Nature Reserve will complete the plan to provide nearly 1.2 million seedlings to 1,689 organizations and households, increasing the planted forest area to 600 hectares with a total investment support of nearly 1.3 billion VND.
