Over 2,000 passes have been issued to people entering and exiting the Vietnam-Laos border market.

Unlike previous market visits, this time, Vietnamese citizens and tourists will have to go to the barrier gate and present valid identification documents (ID card, passport, travel document, driver's license, etc.) to register before entering the market.

After checking and verifying the documents, the authorities will issue people a market access card. While entering the market, people must always wear the card and be subject to inspection, supervision, and guidance from border guards at the border crossing. After leaving the market, people will return the card to the border guard at the barrier.

According to observations, the first market session (January 14th) where this regulation was applied saw a large crowd of people and traders coming to buy, sell, and interact, despite the rainy weather.

Although this was the first time the Nam Can International Border Gate Border Guard Station had implemented the card issuance system, the process went smoothly without any obstacles or congestion. People coming to the market complied and happily registered to receive the cards.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Hong Duc, Commander of the Nam Can International Border Gate Border Guard Station, said that the station has issued 2,015 cards to people entering and exiting the border area for buying, selling, and exchanging goods, ensuring security and order in the border region.

With two more market days remaining until the Lunar New Year, the demand for border market access is high, so the Nam Can Border Guard Station plans to issue additional market entry passes to serve the local people.
