The Drug Crime Investigation Department (P47) of the Dien Bien Provincial Police has arrested a married couple, Vu Chu Senh (44 years old) and Mua Thi Do (39 years old), residing in Na U commune, Dien Bien district, for investigation into the act of transporting drugs.
Earlier, on January 2nd, the couple, each riding a motorbike and carrying six sacks, were discovered by the police.In area C9, Thanh Xương commune, Điện Biên district. Upon seeing the authorities, the couple fled.He used a weapon to resist arrest and escape, but was subdued by the detectives.The task force seized 489 blocks of heroin weighing 171 kg from two sacks.
At the police station, Sếnh and his wife confessed to transporting the heroin for an unknown person at the Vietnam-Laos border into the interior for sale. The value of the heroin was determined.3 million USD (equivalent to 70 billion VND).
Authorities believe this is the largest quantity of drugs ever seized in Dien Bien.
