Supercar club for wealthy women

The Arabian Gazelles Club is a gathering place for affluent women in the United Arab Emirates who love driving and owning supercars.

It's not uncommon to see supercars in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Even the police force boasts a collection of high-end supercars. While supercar clubs are not uncommon in the UAE, the Arabian Gazelles is the first club specifically for women.

Founded earlier this year, Arabian Gazelles is a women-only supercar club founded by Hanan Mazouzi. "We are supercar enthusiasts and want to sit behind the wheel like men, instead of in the passenger seat," she says.

The club operates on the motto "Life is too short to drive a boring car." Of course, that saying only applies to those with money. To date, Hanan Mazouzi has lived in Dubai for 20 years and owns two expensive cars: a Morgan Aero SuperSport and a Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead.

Supercar clubs are not uncommon in the UAE, but Arabian Gazelles is the first club exclusively for women.

Besides Hanan Mazouzi, the club currently has 80 other members. One of them is Alex Hirschi, a wealthy woman who made her fortune test-driving supercars and is nicknamed Supercar Blondie. In addition, Arabian Gazelles has a long list of potential new members, Hanan Mazouzi said.

"To join the club, members must be true supercar enthusiasts, not just owners. The girl must drive regularly and own supercars like Porsche, Lamborghini, Ferrari, Rolls-Royce, Bentley, Mercedes-AMG GT Coupe, McLaren, Bugatti, Aston Martin, and Maserati. Even if it's not a low-slung supercar, at least a Bentley Bentayga or Mercedes G-Wagon," she said.

In recent years, Mazouzi shared that the definition of a supercar has become increasingly blurred, but according to her, a supercar must possess all the elements of design, acceleration, speed, style, and be extremely difficult to own. It must be "super" in every aspect.

The club is regularly invited by leading supercar brands to experience their products. In February, McLaren held a driving event exclusively for women. More recently, the club visited the Dubai Autodrome to test drive Rolls-Royce's high-performance Black Badge model.

On weekends, Hanan Mazouzi organizes drives to new locations around the UAE to meet, socialize, and exchange experiences about supercars. Next year, Hanan Mazouzi will charge each member a minimum fee to organize higher-quality events. "We are like a family, a group of women with the same outlook on life and a passion for supercars. That's the foundation for experiencing and sharing the wonders of the world," she said.

Hanan Mazouzi disagrees with the high-performance automotive industry for neglecting female customers. According to her, women are being overlooked by supercar manufacturers, and it's time they paid attention and listened to the opinions of people like Hanan Mazouzi.
