According to Nguyen Van Hanh, the player suffered a back injury after completing a training session with the Vietnam U23 team on their first day of training. Currently, the 1998-born central defender has been allowed by the Vietnam U23 coaching staff to return to Hai Phong Club for treatment of his injury.

It is known that before joining the Vietnam U23 team, Nguyen Van Hanh was also recovering from a back muscle injury. In the match between Hai Phong FC and Viettel FC in Round 11 of the V.League 2019, which took place on May 24th, the 1998-born central defender had to leave the field in the first half after a collision with a player from the home team.
