The tea plants in Con Cuong yield a good harvest and sell at a good price.
(Baonghean.vn) - Thanks to favorable weather and proper care, farmers in Con Cuong are currently harvesting a good amount of tea.
Previously, the family of Mr. Vi Van Hoi in To village, Yen Khe commune (Con Cuong district), owned over 7 sao (approximately 0.7 hectares) of hilly land, only grew low-yield crops; at times, the land was left fallow. After many years of not finding a suitable crop, in 2012, he invested in planting tea, a traditional crop in the area.
After 6 years, the tea plants are ready for harvest. At this time, the average selling price is 4,000 VND/kg of tea buds. Each harvest yields nearly 2 tons of tea, resulting in a profit of approximately 7 million VND after deducting expenses.

Con Cuong district has over 366 hectares of tea plantations, of which nearly 355 hectares are producing tea. The district will soon support the planting of an additional 15 hectares.
