Man breaks into car and steals nearly 800 million VND to spend on holiday.
To get money and "dress up" for the holidays, three teenagers aged 14-16 conspired to break into cars and steal valuables. After stealing a large amount of cash and necklaces worth nearly 800 million VND, all three went to a gold shop and each bought a gold bracelet, a fancy motorbike, an iPhone, and other items.
On May 1st, the Cam Le District Police (Da Nang) announced that the District Police Investigation Agency had issued a decision to initiate a criminal case, indict the suspects, and execute arrest warrants for temporary detention against Le Quoc Huy (born in 2007, residing in Son Tra District), Nguyen Thanh Dat (born in 2008), and Vo Van Tung (born in 2007, both residing in Thanh Khe District) for the crime of theft.

Previously, the police station in Khue Trung ward, Cam Le district, received a report from Mr. N.D.Q (residing in Khue Trung ward) about thieves breaking into his pickup truck with license plate 74C-105… and stealing property, including a gold necklace worth over 700 million VND.
Applying investigative measures, the Cam Le District Police quickly identified the suspects who allegedly broke into Mr. Q's pickup truck to steal property as Le Quoc Huy, Nguyen Thanh Dat, and Vo Van Tung, and "invited" the three suspects to the police station for questioning.

At the police station, Huy, Dat, and Tung confessed to their crimes. According to their statements, in order to have money to go on holiday, the three of them conspired to find cars parked on the street and wait for an opportunity to break the locks and steal property.
At approximately 2 PM on April 23rd, Tung was driving a motorbike carrying Huy and Dat to Nguyen Trung Ngan Street (Khue Trung Ward, Cam Le District) when they spotted a pickup truck with license plate 74C-105 belonging to Mr. Q. parked on the roadside. Huy stood guard while Dat and Tung approached the vehicle and searched for valuables. After taking a gold-colored metal necklace and cash, Dat and Tung returned to the motorbike where Huy drove them away.
That same afternoon, Huy, Dat, and Tung took the stolen necklaces to a gold shop on Hung Vuong Street (Thanh Khe District) and sold them for over 403 million VND. With the money, the three went shopping, each buying a gold bracelet and necklace, three Honda Airblade motorbikes, and three mobile phones (an iPhone 14 Pro Max and an iPhone 14 Plus), totaling over 200 million VND. They kept the remaining money as a "shared fund" for holiday celebrations... but unexpectedly, all three were discovered and arrested by the police.
According to the Cam Le District Police, at the time of the crime, Tung was 16 years and 3 months old, Dat was 14 years and 11 months old, and Huy was 15 years and 5 months old. However, prior to that, in 2022, the suspects had a criminal record for theft and were given an administrative penalty of "Warning" by the Hai Chau District Police.
