Christmas tree with millions of sea mollusk shells in Nghe An recognized as Vietnam record

(Baonghean.vn) - With its unique beauty, the Christmas tree in Loc My Parish, Nghi Quang Commune (Nghi Loc) has been recognized as a Vietnamese record.
This pine tree was designed right next to the entrance gate of Loc My Parish Church. Since its inauguration, the unique pine tree has become an important highlight in the parish’s Christmas space. Photo: Huy ThuThis special Christmas tree was constructed for nearly 2 months, with the participation of many parishioners. The person who came up with the idea of building the mollusk tree was the parish priest. During his years as parish priest of Luu My, Tru Son commune (Do Luong), priest Hoang Trung Hoa had designed famous Christmas structures such as the clay pot Christmas tree, the giant windmill, the mask Christmas tree... Photo: Huy ThuPriest Hoang Trung Hoa shared: By creating a Christmas tree from millions of seashells, we want to introduce the characteristics of coastal culture. At the same time, we want to commemorate hundreds of people who died in storms and waves over the past century; to show gratitude to the creator of the universe and the sea, and to the fishermen who sacrificed and worked hard. Photo: Huy ThuAccording to Father Hoang Trung Hoa, this project has been recognized by the Vietnam Record Organization as "The tallest Christmas tree made from mollusk shells in Vietnam". The Vietnam Record Organization will present a certificate to the parish on the night of December 24. This is an honor and pride for the people of Loc My Parish. It is known that Loc My Parish was established in 1853 and currently has nearly 3,000 parishioners. The people mainly work as sea fishermen. Photo: Huy Thu
