Father brings son into a huge drug ring
(Baonghean.vn) - After being released from prison, Quang Van Ai bought a car and created a cover as a taxi driver to trade drugs. At the end of the year, he brought his son into a large drug ring.
On the morning of January 3, Nghe An Provincial Police organized an award ceremony for Project Team 817K for their achievements in arresting a father and son who were trading 5 kg of heroin, 8 kg of crystal meth, and 400 MTTH pills.
Previously, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department discovered a drug trafficking ring that illegally traded large quantities of drugs from Laos through small-scale routes into Ky Son district, Nghe An, and then transported them to northern provinces for consumption, so they established Project 817K to combat the situation.

After nearly 3 months of investigation and verification, the Task Force identified the ringleader as Quang Van Ai (born in 1976), residing in Chieu Luu Commune, Ky Son District. Ai had a previous conviction for “Illegal drug trafficking” with a sentence of 12 years in prison.
During the execution of his sentence, Ai established relationships with powerful people in society.
Released from prison in 2012, Quang Van Ai, with his reckless nature, did not work hard but continued to fall into drug addiction, so he quickly returned to the path of crime.
He created a cover as a taxi driver to conceal his long trips and make it difficult for the authorities to monitor him.
In early December 2017, when receiving information that Ai was preparing to take a large amount of "goods", the Task Force outlined a plan and organized according to the opportunity. When discovering unusual changes around, Ai immediately directed the links to stop all activities, change all phone numbers in use, change the people and methods of transporting drugs. Therefore, solving the case encountered many difficulties.
