The MU striker played disappointingly and was withdrawn by coach Roberto Martinez before the match ended, while Eden Hazard had a brilliant performance against England.
Highlights Belgium 2-0 England: Hazard shinesIn the 2018 World Cup third place match at 9pm, Belgium beat England 2-0 after goals from Thomas Meunier and Eden Hazard.

Goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois (7 points): England's attack was not very impressive and the defenders in front of Courtois were very focused. Therefore, he did not have much to do.

Defender Jan Vertonghen (7 points): With one tackle, two interceptions and seven clearances, Vertonghen was Belgium's most consistent defender against England. Vertonghen played most of the second half as a full-back and did a decent job.

Defender Thomas Vermaelen (6 points): Coming on as a replacement for the injured Nacer Chadli, Vermaelen did not play on the wing like his teammate but played as a centre-back. In the second half, Vermaelen repeatedly encountered difficulties against the speed of the English players. He also played without concentration, allowing Eric Dier to escape and face Courtois.

Defender Vincent Kompany (7 points): He had the most clearances of any player on the pitch. Kompany also did not have to work at full capacity against a tired Harry Kane and Raheem Sterling on the England side. A fair match and not much pressure for the Man City captain.

Defender Toby Alderweireld (7 points): The situation that made him most noticeable was the clearance right on the goal line after Eric Dier's chip. Otherwise, this defender did not play very well when the pressure created by the English players was not too great.

Defender Thomas Meunier (8 points): Returning to the Belgian squad, Meunier immediately proved his worth with a goal in the 4th minute. If he had been luckier, Meunier could have scored a double when his swipe was brilliantly saved by goalkeeper Jordan Pickford. Meunier's absence was one of the regrettable losses for the Belgian team in the semi-final defeat to France.

Midfielder Axel Witsel (7 points): Witsel played with great power in midfield, creating maximum conditions for Kevin De Bruyne to be free to create. He had 3 tackles, the most of any Belgian player. Witsel's successful passing rate was also up to 98%.

Midfielder Youri Tielemans (7 points): The Monaco youngster caused plenty of problems for the England midfield with his fine individual skills. Two shots and two critical passes were his standout stats.

Midfielder Kevin De Bruyne (8 points): If his teammates had taken advantage of all the chances created by De Bruyne, the score probably wouldn't have stopped at 2-0. Throughout the match, he had 7 passes creating opportunities for his teammates, one of which was Hazard's goal. No one on the field had more dangerous passes than De Bruyne.

Striker Eden Hazard (8 points): He deserved to be the best player of the match. Besides the goal that sealed the 2-0 score, Hazard also had 7 successful dribbles, 2 shots and 3 passes to create opportunities for his teammates. The Chelsea player also had some beautiful improvised combinations at the end of the second half.

Forward Romelu Lukaku (5 points): Lukaku only had one shot in the whole match - less than one defender, Meunier. He could have had more shots if he hadn't handled the ball so badly from his teammates' favorable passes. Lukaku could have had two one-on-ones with the goalkeeper if he had handled the ball more properly.
