Manchester United's 2-4 defeat to AC Milan: Patrick Dorgu shines, Luke Shaw hits rock bottom.
Manchester United suffered a 2-4 defeat against AC Milan in a friendly match that exposed many defensive weaknesses, most notably the lackluster performance of Luke Shaw.
Manchester United concluded their pre-season preparations with a dramatic 2-4 defeat against AC Milan. This final warm-up before the start of their Premier League campaign exposed numerous weaknesses in the Red Devils' defense and highlighted the contrasting performances of the stars on the pitch.
A shaky defense and a disappointing performance from Luke Shaw.
In defense, Luke Shaw became a weak point that opponents exploited to the fullest. The English defender had a very difficult day, constantly being outmatched by the speed and agility of Chukwueze of AC Milan. Lacking the necessary cover and contributing poorly to the attack, Shaw only received a score of 4 – the lowest in the team.

Central defender Harry Maguire (5 points), despite contributing a powerful header from a corner kick in the 2nd minute, made a serious positional error leading to Chukwueze's shot. He also showed a lack of leadership in the defense. Alongside him, young central defender Ayden Heaven (6 points) played hard and is likely to start the opening match, but still showed a lack of concentration with several dangerous misplaced passes.

In goal, Senne Lammens (6 points) made an excellent reflex save in the first half. However, conceding four goals dragged his score down, especially the situation where he could have done better with Loftus-Cheek's shot. Right-back Noussair Mazraoui (6 points) played a solid game in the first half but showed a clear decline in fitness in the second. Meanwhile, Andrey Santos (6 points) needed to be more proactive in closing down space after the accidental collision with Maguire that led to the goal.

The attack lacked cohesion, but Patrick Dorgu shone brightly.
In contrast to the struggles of the defense, Patrick Dorgu (7 points) was the biggest bright spot for Manchester United. The young player played aggressively, proactively taking an early shot to win the opening corner kick, and maintaining his decisiveness to punish Milan's defensive errors in the second half.

In terms of playmaking, Bruno Fernandes (6 points) made an early impact with an accurate cross for Maguire to score in the 2nd minute. However, the Portuguese playmaker disappointed again by missing a penalty. His midfield partner, Youri Tielemans (6 points), provided sharp through passes to Amad, but his ability to cover space wasn't particularly impressive.

In attack, Amad (6 points) pressed aggressively in the early stages of the match but quickly ran out of steam in the hot weather. The connection between him and newcomer Matheus Cunha (5 points) lacked the necessary fluidity. Starting as a center forward, Cunha often dropped deep to retrieve the ball but was completely ineffective and failed to make an impact on the team's overall play.
