End extra teaching by teachers at Huynh Thuc Khang High School
(Baonghean.vn) -This is the affirmation of the school principal after receiving information that the school's teachers arbitrarily organized extra classes against regulations.
On the afternoon of July 13, Mr. Cao Thanh Bao - Principal of Huynh Thuc Khang High School sent a document to the Department of Education and Training reporting on the school's teachers organizing extra classes at Vinh University of Industry.
Specifically, according to the school leaders: In the 2016-2017 school year, the school demolished the 3-story building to build a 4-story building, so the school only had 21 classrooms for 42 classes with 2 shifts. Because the classrooms at the school were only enough for regular classes, the school had to contract to rent 18 classrooms from Vinh University of Industry to review for students.
The organization of student review is coordinated by the two schools and Huynh Thuc Khang High School has completed the payment for renting classrooms for Vinh University of Industry until May 2017. From June 2017 until now, the school has no need to rent classrooms.

However, since July 3, 2017, some teachers have borrowed the premises of Vinh University of Industry to organize extra classes. The organization of extra teaching and learning during the summer by some teachers is against the regulations of the Department of Education and Training, without the permission of the school.
In response to this incident, the school principal requested the teachers to immediately stop teaching and learning extra classes and to submit an explanatory report. The school will seriously review and clarify the responsibilities of the individuals involved.
Discussing further about this matter, Mr. Nguyen Trong Hoan - Chief of Office of the Department of Education and Training also said: Since May 2017, the Director of the Department of Education and Training has issued a document requesting schools not to organize extra classes or extra learning during the summer. Therefore, teachers arbitrarily organizing extra classes is against the regulations of the industry. The Department's viewpoint is to direct serious handling of the matter against violating groups and individuals.
On June 21, 2017, the Provincial People's Committee issued Document No. 4549/UBND.VX on rectifying extra teaching and learning. In this document, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Minh Thong requested the Department of Education and Training, People's Committees of districts, cities and towns to step up inspection and examination work. At the same time, strictly handle individual teachers and organizations that violate regulations and take responsibility for the heads of agencies and units that violate regulations./. |
