Among them, Associate Professor Dr. Tran Dinh Thang from Vinh University is the youngest person to be considered for the professor title in this round..
On the evening of October 11th, in an interview with a reporter from Nghe An Newspaper, Associate Professor Dr. Tran Dinh Thang – the third person at Vinh University to be considered for professorship – said: "I am very happy that after many years of effort, I have finally been recognized. This result is also a great motivation for me to continue my research and teaching career."

Associate Professor Dr. Tran Dinh Thang, born in 1975 in Thanh Chuong district, has many years of teaching experience at universities. In 2012, he was promoted to Associate Professor and is currently the Deputy Head of the Department of Chemistry at Vinh University.
During his career, he achieved many accomplishments in research and teaching. Notably, he established the first interdisciplinary research group in Chemistry-Biology-Pharmacy-Food Technology, comprising scientists from Vietnam and abroad (Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, etc.), specializing in the study of bioactive compounds from macrofungi in Vietnam.
The main scientific and practical significance of this research is to study the technology for isolating, culturing, and extracting highly bioactive compounds from macrofungi for the development of new drugs and functional foods.

In addition, technology for several strains of bioactive fungi has been transferred to BIO-ANHA company, and preparations are underway to transfer the production process of anti-inflammatory functional foods from the Hexagonia fungus to a pharmaceutical company.
He has also published 75 prestigious international (ISI) publications, including 26 SCI and 49 SCIE. He has actively collaborated with experts and scientific and training institutions both domestically and internationally, co-authored books, co-supervised numerous doctoral students with foreign professors, and organized many national and international scientific conferences.

In addition to being a lecturer at Vinh University, Associate Professor Dr. Tran Dinh Thang is also a Standing Committee member of the Organic Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, and Natural Compounds Association of the Vietnam Chemical Society.
