On January 18, 2023, after closing the 3rd extraordinary session of the 15th National Assembly, the National Assembly Standing Committee issued Notice No. 404/TB-UBTVQH15 on the exercise of the powers of the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

Accordingly, pursuant to the Constitution of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; Law on Organization of the National Assembly No. 57/2014/QH13, amended and supplemented by a number of articles under Law No. 65/2020/QH14; Resolution No. 83/2023/QH15 dated January 18, 2023 at the 3rd extraordinary session of the 15th National Assembly; Conclusion of the Politburo on assigning a member of the Party Central Committee to hold the position of President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly respectfully announces: Ms. Vo Thi Anh Xuan, - Vice President, holds the position of President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam until the National Assembly elects a new President.

Ms. Vo Thi Anh Xuan, born on January 8, 1970; hometown: Thoi Son Commune, Tinh Bien District, An Giang Province; professional qualifications: Bachelor of Chemistry Education, Master of Public Administration.
She is a member of the Party Central Committee: 11th (alternate), 12th, 13th terms; National Assembly delegate: 14th term.
From 2001 to 2010, she held the following positions: Vice President, President of the Women's Union of An Giang Province; Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission; Secretary of Tan Chau Town Party Committee. After that, she held the position of Vice President of the Provincial People's Committee, Deputy Secretary of the An Giang Provincial Party Committee.
On October 2, 2015, the Politburo assigned and appointed her to the position of Secretary of the An Giang Provincial Party Committee for the 2010-2015 term. Immediately afterwards, the 10th Provincial Party Congress for the 2015-2020 term elected her to the position of Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and was re-elected as Secretary of the An Giang Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.
On April 6, 2021, at the 11th session of the 14th National Assembly, Ms. Vo Thi Anh Xuan was elected Vice President and re-elected to this position at the 1st session of the 15th National Assembly in July 2021 until now.
The National Assembly dismissed Mr. Nguyen Xuan Phuc from the position of President.
