Man hit and killed while blocking rival's car
Gia Lai Provincial Police said that in Pleiku City, there was a recent conflict related to love affairs. In a fit of anger, Nguyen Van Toan (born in 1984) accelerated his car and hit and killed someone.
According to initial information, at around 1:45 a.m. on August 20, Lai Duc Chung (born in 1983, residing on Le Dai Hanh Street) and Le Ngo Vinh Phat (born in 1993, residing in Group 8, Ia Kring Ward) drove car with license plate 81A-1253 to the house of Nguyen Van Toan (born in 1984, residing at 02B, Duy Tan Street, Dien Hong Ward - Pleiku) to resolve a conflict in their love life.
Upon arrival, Chung and Phat got out of the car and went into Toan's house to talk. At this time, Toan was sitting in the car with license plate 81A-116.20 (the car was parked in Toan's yard).

Seeing that, Chung immediately ran out to stand in front of the car, while Phat ran back to his car to get a 90cm long knife, then ran to slash the right side of Toan's car. In a fit of anger, Toan revved the engine and hit Chung straight on. As a result, Chung was taken to Gia Lai General Hospital for emergency treatment by local people, but died shortly after.
After the incident, Toan drove away from the scene. When the car reached the intersection of Le Thanh Ton Street (in Ia Kring Ward), the car overturned. Afterwards, the suspect went to Dien Hong Ward police station to surrender and confessed to all his crimes.
Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the case.
