Striker Odah Marshal will leave SLNA after the 2016 season.
(Baonghean.vn) - The top scorer of the Nghe An team said that the 2016 V.League season is also his first season in Vietnam and after the end of this season, he will return to Nigeria.
Preparing for the 2016 season, SLNA surprised the entire V.League with the blockbuster signing of Odah Marshal. The Nigerian national team player arrived at Vinh Stadium with a salary of up to 8,000 USD/month, equivalent to 180 million VND. To date, with only two rounds remaining in the 2016 V.League season, the striker born in 1992 has already scored 10 goals for the Nghe An team.
However, compared to the expectations of the SLNA coaching staff and fans, this player's performance has not been truly convincing. Odah Marshal's inconsistent form is completely understandable, as this is his first time playing in Vietnamese football and SLNA is also facing many problems both on and off the field.

Compared to Baba Salia, this player has a rather individualistic and inconsistent playing style; however, his class has been demonstrated in the 10 goals he scored for SLNA. Nevertheless, after SLNA's final match at Lach Tray Stadium (Hai Phong) on September 18th, he will return to his homeland Nigeria to play for Enugu Rangers IFC. This was anticipated, as the loan agreement between SLNA and Odah Marshal's parent club is only for one year.
Striker Odah Marshal said: “After the season ends, I will return to Nigeria to play football. Although things are quite good in Vietnam, I am still very young, and my goal is to play for the national team. So I will return to continue my career. My time playing in Vietnam has been a really great experience, thank you for everything.”

After the 2016 V.League season, SLNA not only parted ways with Odah Marshal, but it is also highly likely that the Nghe An team will not renew the contract of foreign player Baba Salia. Currently, the team is planning to recall several former players to return to their hometown club.
