(Baonghean.vn) - By taking advantage of local resources and applying science and technology to production, Mr. Bui Dang Thich (village)7, Duc Son commune, Anh Son district) has successfully developed a livestock farming model with a "clean" process, every yearincome over 1billion VND.

After graduating from high school, Mr. Thich went to the South to work for several livestock farms. After accumulating experience and knowledge in production, in 2011 he returned to his hometown to start his own business. His hometown has the advantage of vast land and abundant feed sources for livestock, so Mr. Thich boldly developed a livestock farm model, applying science and technology with a "clean" process.

Mr. Thich developed a model of pig farming, applying science and technology with a "clean" process.

Initially, Mr. Thich focused on investing in pig farming. Although the farming was quite efficient, after each batch was sold, the supply of piglets for the next batch became scarce. To ensure a reliable source of piglets for his own farm and to meet the demand for piglets from local farmers, Mr. Thich borrowed capital to invest in a large-scale pig farm. On an area of approximately 1,800 square meters of hillside land, he built a comprehensive system of barns, including areas for breeding sows and piglets. Each barn area is equipped with bathing pools, a semi-automatic feeding system, and cameras to monitor the development and health of the pigs.

Sharing his livestock farming secrets, Mr. Bui Dang Thich said: "I regularly spray disinfectant twice a month to ensure that the barns and surrounding environment are always kept clean and free of pathogens. At the same time, I vaccinate the animals against diseases using the correct techniques. The main feed source is corn and rice purchased from local farmers."

Thanks to the application of a closed-loop breeding process and strict adherence to vaccination, the pig herd develops healthily with few disease outbreaks. Starting with 30 sows and 3 foreign breed boars, he breeds and sells nearly 700 piglets annually to markets within and outside the district.

Each year, Mr. Thich raises approximately 6,000 broiler chickens.

Having achieved success with his sow farming model, Mr. Thich continued to invest in broiler chicken farming. Thanks to his solid knowledge of animal husbandry, he is always proactive in selecting breeding stock, preventing diseases, and ensuring the right feed for his flock. He raises chickens using a free-range method in his hillside garden, resulting in delicious and flavorful meat.

To find outlets for his products, Mr. Thich intensified his promotional efforts and networking through internet channels. As a result, more and more customers learned about his free-range chicken farm. Each year, he raises two batches, each with over 3,000 chickens, selling over 8 tons of chicken meat. The main markets for his farm's commercial chickens are Vinh City and Hanoi...

With his keen business sense, dynamism, and ability to apply science and technology to livestock farming, Mr. Bui Dang Thich has built a high-income economic development model, the dream of many local young people. With his model of raising sows and broiler chickens, his family earns over 1 billion VND annually, with a net profit of approximately 500 million VND after deducting expenses. Not only has he enriched his own family, but Mr. Thich has also created regular employment for three workers, with salaries exceeding 3 million VND per month.

Discussing the successful livestock farming model in the locality, Mr. Tran Quang Trung – Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Duc Son commune – said: "Currently, Mr. Thich is bidding for an additional 4 hectares of land to expand his farm, raising over 300 commercial pigs. The commune is strengthening propaganda and encouraging people to visit the farm to learn and providing technical support to help people replicate the farming model, in order to exploit advantages and develop the local economy."
