From the initial 4 goats, with the will and aspiration to rise up, Moong Ba Nghia has gradually changed his life, built an effective economic model, affirming that action is the key to success.

Have you ever stood at a crossroads in life, with nothing in your hands – no capital, no job, only a fragile belief that: “I cannot live like this forever”? Moong Ba Nghia – a young man of the Khmu ethnic group in Muong Ai commune, Ky Son district – was once at such a starting point.

In 2017, having just graduated, Nghia returned to his village, without a stable job, and his family was in a difficult situation. In the middle of the windy and sunny mountainous area, few people believed that a young person like him could start from zero.

But he didn't choose to leave. He chose to stay.

The opportunity came when the Department of Science and Technology supported him with 4 breeding goats. For others, it was just a few animals. For Nghia, it was hope. And he began - not loudly, not dramatically, quietly learning how to raise goats day by day: reading documents online, watching videos, learning from long-time breeders. He planted elephant grass, found leaves that goats liked, and gradually improved the herd. There was no secret other than perseverance and not giving up.

From 4 goats, after 5 years, Nghia's farm now has over 100 commercial goats, with a steady income of 120-150 million VND per year. He also expanded the model, investing in barns to raise more than 20 native black pigs, increasing his income by 30-50 million VND per year.

As Secretary of the Youth Union of Muong Ai commune, Moong Ba Nghia is not only good at economics but also a person who spreads the passion. He is willing to share techniques, ways to build cages, good breeds, disease prevention experiences... to help other young people in the commune also start raising livestock. Gradually, a small-scale economic movement among young people is being formed from his "flame".

“Young people in the highlands do not lack will. We just need an opportunity, someone who believes in us. I am grateful to the Union for accompanying us, and I hope that young people will boldly stay and enrich themselves from the land and mountains of their homeland, because no one understands this land better than themselves,” Nghia shared.

Moong Ba Nghia's story illustrates the point: Don't wait until you have enough conditions to start. Start with what you have. 4 goats, without desire, will just be 4 goats. But if you have the will, the dream and the action, it can be the beginning of a different life.
