The Hmong boy wrote a letter volunteering to enlist in the army.

During this year's military recruitment season, many young people in Ky Son district expressed their desire to join the army and voluntarily submitted applications. The most notable example is Cu Ba Cu, a young man of the Mong ethnic group from Huoi Tu commune, who brought his parents to the commune's Military Service Council and personally wrote an application to volunteer for military service.

Cự Bá Cu himself is the main breadwinner in the family.

Given his family circumstances, after finishing high school, Cu Ba Cu did not take the university entrance exam but went to the South to work as a laborer to send money back to help his family. However, he was always troubled by his responsibility and duty as a young man to his country.

When the family notified them that they had received a summons.military conscription examinationUpon returning home from the village, Cự Bá Cu immediately wrote an application to join the army. Although he knew his family would face many economic difficulties without him as the breadwinner, with the thought and determination to change himself and become more mature in the military environment, Cự Bá Cu still decided to become a soldier in the heroic Vietnam People's Army.

Understanding his son's feelings and ambition, Cu Ba Cu's father shared: "My son is the only breadwinner in our family, but when he decided to enlist, my wife and I supported him and agreed to let him join the army to fulfill his dream. We Hmong people are used to hard labor, so we're not worried about his health not being strong enough to serve in the army. We only worry that he's young and inexperienced, so he might still feel a bit lost. I hope that after his time in the army, he will mature and become a good citizen. I would be very happy if he could bring his knowledge back to help his family and village."

Besides the young man Cu Ba Cu who volunteered to enlist, several other young men in Ky Son district also volunteered to join the army, such as Luong Hoang Phu, a Thai ethnic minority from Ta Ca commune, and Luong Van Kim, also a Thai ethnic minority from Chieu Luu commune, who, despite being married and having two young children, volunteered to enlist in this recruitment drive.

Lieutenant Colonel Vuong Dinh Hanh, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Political Commissar of the Ky Son District Military Command, stated: "For this year's recruitment season, the biggest challenge for localities in the district is that many young men of military age are working far away in industrial zones in the South and North. When the recruitment order is issued, it takes a long time to resolve the procedures with the companies. However, with the highest determination of leaders at all levels, from the district to the communes, and the entire political system involved, the district is determined to fulfill the assigned quota."

The entire district has intensified efforts to disseminate the Law on Military Service to all citizens, thereby continuously raising awareness and responsibility of citizens towards the task of protecting the Fatherland. Through this, they have gained a firm grasp of the ideological situation and circumstances of each family and citizen selected for military service, especially regarding any issues that arose after the Lunar New Year of the Ox.At the same time, effectively implement policies supporting the families of soldiers, creating the best possible conditions for families and citizens selected for military service.
