Creating the most emotions for listeners is the composition by La Hoang Quy called “Mother’s Source”. Meritorious Artist To Nga shared that after listening to this song, she could not hold back her tears.

Talking about this composition, Quy shared: “I really wanted to write a song dedicated to my mother, but the person who left the most emotions, the person who made me write the most sobs was Quy’s aunt. The song “Mother’s Source” was born when Quy’s aunt passed away.”

Quy also said that his aunt is 49 years old. Because of her grandchildren, she did not get married. She is also the one who takes care of her grandmother who is over 80 years old this year.

“When she passed away, I couldn’t control my emotions. I burst into tears on the way back from Hanoi to my hometown. And when she passed away, it really left me with a lot of pain. She didn’t have the happiness that others had, but she sacrificed for her children and family. That’s why I wrote the song “Mother’s Source” right after that,” Quy shared.

Answering Nghe An Newspaper about why Quy does not use Nghe An folk songs, the inspiration for many singers and musicians of his hometown, in his compositions, Quy said: “Actually, I always look to my roots, my homeland, my bloodline because I was born from the mountains and forests. Since I was little, I have listened to my uncles and aunts sing folk songs, at that time those folk songs had been absorbed into me without me knowing, when I sang songs about the mountains and forests, I felt the emotions in them. Currently, I am still learning, continuing to explore and improve. I am a Central Vietnamese, a true Nghe An native, but I have never dared to sing a Nghe folk song, I have really practiced a lot but I cannot sing, I have not dared to sing.”

It was also from this school that Quy's singing voice became known to many people.

After graduating from high school, Quy applied to only one school, Hanoi College of Arts. With his natural talent, Quy was admitted to the Vocal Music Department of Hanoi College of Arts with a fairly high score. After graduating from the Vocal Music College, La Hoang Quy continued to take the university entrance exam and was admitted to the Military University of Culture and Arts.

With talent and hard work, overcoming difficult circumstances, Quy participated in many competitions and also achieved initial successes, in which, the top 4 position nationwide in the chamber music category of Sao Mai 2019 competition is the highest award that La Hoang Quy achieved.
