(Baonghean.vn)- In Anh Son, the four-season lemon growing model of Mr. Ho Xuan Trung (village 10, Tuong Son commune) is known by many people.

While watching a TV show, Mr. Trung was very interested in the four-season lemon variety that bears fruit all year round. Therefore, the idea of developing a four-season lemon growing model was born in him. In May 2014, he and his wife boldly borrowed 80 million VND from the bank and went all the way to Tuyen Quang province to buy seedlings.

Mr. Ho Xuan Trung's four-season lemon garden brings in nearly 100 million/year in income.

In the early days of planting the four-season lemon tree, he could not help but worry, because in Anh Son district, he was the first person to plant it on a trial basis. Therefore, in addition to investing in care, he also closely monitored the growth process. After only 1 year, the four-season lemon tree was ready for harvest. Mr. Trung said: This is a tree variety that is easy to grow, easy to care for and especially adaptable to all climatic conditions. If well cared for, it can be exploited for 10 to 15 years.

Mr. Trung's family's four-season lemon garden of 100 trees produces year-round harvests, with outstanding productivity and large, juicy fruit. He harvests a batch every 20 days. In 2015 alone, the lemon garden yielded over 2 tons of fruit, with an average price of 20,000 VND/kg, and during the Lunar New Year, the price reached 35,000 VND/kg, which was over 50 million VND - much more efficient than other crops grown on the same soil.

In addition to supplying lemons, he also produces and supplies lemon seedlings to farmers in neighboring districts and Ha Tinh and Quang Binh provinces. In 2015, he sold more than 300 seedlings. Each branch costs 150,000 VND, bringing his family an income of 45 million VND.

Growing four-season lemons is a new direction, bringing high efficiency to farmers who are always diligent and inquisitive like Mr. Ho Xuan Trung.
