Giving wings to poor students' dreams of going to school
(Baonghean.vn) - With various sources of support, the Women's Union of Nghia Dan district has developed many programs and plans to promptly help poor students in the new school year. Through charity programs, hundreds of poor children have been given more strength to excel in their studies.
To help children in especially difficult circumstances in the area have the conditions to continue going to school, the Women's Union of Nghia Tho commune (Nghia Dan) has taken specific and practical actions.
Nguyen Thi Suong, a 4A student at Nghia Tho Primary School, has leukemia. The cost of treatment is very expensive, so her family is in poverty. However, with the help of teachers, neighbors, and especially the women's union members of Nghia Tho commune who regularly visit, encourage, and share the financial difficulties, she has overcome her illness to excel in her studies. In the 2015-2016 school year, she achieved the title of outstanding student.

To help and encourage children in difficult circumstances to have the opportunity to go to school, every year through the program to support the Fund "For Poor Women and Children", the Women's Union of Nghia Tho commune has allocated a part of the budget to visit and give gifts to the children. Along with that, the branches have built a rice saving jar movement to share the difficulties of female members in life and create conditions to support and help students continue to go to school.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Van - President of the Women's Union of Nghia Tho commune said: "Every year at the beginning of the school year or on the Mid-Autumn Festival, the Women's Union allocates a portion of the fund from the association to buy gifts for the children. Although the material gifts are not much, they show the concern and sharing of the association, motivating the children to try to overcome difficulties and excel in their studies."
In Nghia Hung commune, before the new school year, the Women's Union organized an exchange program and collected nearly 14 million VND in donations from kind-hearted people and donors inside and outside the commune. Through that, the Women's Union presented 3 bicycles and 18 gifts to students in difficult circumstances.

Ha Thi Kieu, a student at Nghia Hung Primary School, shared: “I am very happy to receive the scholarship to help us go to school. Thank you for giving us such meaningful gifts. This will be the motivation for me and my friends to study hard to become good children, good students, and useful citizens for society in the future.”
It is known that every year, the Women's Union of Nghia Dan district has also issued Resolutions and specialized topics to direct the Women's Unions of 25 communes and towns to organize well the programs "Helping children go to school"; coordinate with departments, branches and organizations to organize charity programs to mobilize and donate to support poor children and children in especially difficult circumstances in the area. Therefore, many children have been helped and encouraged in a timely manner.
