(Baonghean.vn) - On March 25, the Tri Le Border Guard Station, Nghe An Border Guard Command, issued a decision to initiate criminal proceedings for the crime of organizing illegal stay in Vietnam for others to gain illicit profits against Xong Ba Tong, residing in Tri Le commune, Que Phong district.

Earlier, at approximately 3:30 AM on March 23, 2024, in the area of ​​National Highway 16 in Na Nieng village, Tri Le commune, Que Phong district, Nghe An province; the Tri Le Border Guard Post, the Anti-Drug and Crime Prevention Department - Nghe An Provincial Border Guard, in coordination with the Que Phong District Police and Tri Le Commune Police, discovered 10 people carrying many personal belongings who intended to travel to southern provinces for work, exhibiting suspicious behavior.

Upon inspection, it was discovered that 8 people of Lao nationality (4 adults and 4 children) did not possess any identification documents or immigration papers.

Through investigation and verification, it was determined that Xong Ba Tong (born in 1999), residing in Muong Long village, Tri Le commune, Que Phong district, Nghe An province, organized the illegal stay of Lao citizens in Vietnam for illicit profit, charging 1.5 million VND per adult; thus committing the crime of "Organizing for others to stay in Vietnam illegally.", as stipulated in Article 348 of the Penal Code of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

Currently, the Tri Le Border Guard Station, Nghe An Provincial Border Guard Command, has initiated criminal proceedings in accordance with the law and is continuing to expand the investigation and combat related individuals.
