Following reports that a tropical depression in the East Sea could strengthen into a storm, causing widespread heavy rain, farmers in Nghe An province are urgently harvesting their summer-autumn rice crop to minimize losses.

With Typhoon No. 5 forecast to make landfall, and guided by the principle of "better to harvest early than risk damage," farmers are actively racing to harvest their rice crops to avoid losses caused by the typhoon.
Fishing boats from Nghe An province, fleeing Typhoon No. 3, were swept ashore by waves.
Military forces, along with the Farmers' Association of Nghi Thuy ward, Cua Lo town, have successfully rescued a fishing boat belonging to a fisherman that was swept away by waves.

Prior to Typhoon No. 3 (Super Typhoon Yagi), Hung Nguyen district focused on quickly harvesting the summer-autumn rice crop that was 70% or more ripe. Authorities worked through the night to help people store the rice in safe places.
