Market fire at dawn, 2 husband and wife died tragically
At around 2:15 a.m. on February 6, a major fire broke out at Cha La market (Cha La hamlet, Tran Phan commune, Dam Doi district, Ca Mau province), causing the tragic death of a couple.
According to people who witnessed the incident, at around the same time, many traders at Cha La market suddenly discovered a fire in the center of the market.

Mr. Xuyen, a witness to the fire, said: "At that time, I was sleeping in the yard to watch over the Tet goods, when I heard loud screams from people around. I ran over and saw a fierce fire burning at the market intersection. People quickly used buckets and fire extinguishers to put out the fire, then the fire department arrived."
According to initial information from the People's Committee of Tran Phan commune, the fire burned down almost all the furniture in 5 houses of the traders, 2 people died due to being trapped in the fire, Ms. Duong Ngoc Tran and Mr. Tra Thai Hoang. Initial damage was estimated at about 3.8 billion VND.

Ms. Le Thu Phuong, Chairwoman of the People's Committee of Tran Phan Commune, said that the fire started from the shops of 3 households selling ready-made garments, household appliances, etc., so it was very easy to catch fire.
Immediately after the people reported, the commune sent local firefighters to quickly put out the fire. Afterwards, the Fire Police of Ca Mau Province Police immediately arrived at the scene and deployed forces to put out the fire. By about 4am, the fire was completely extinguished.
According to Ms. Phuong, the police force has conducted autopsies on the two victims of the fire. The commune has sent militia, police officers, and youth union members to the scene to help people clean up.
The initial cause may be an electrical short circuit.The incident is being further investigated by the authorities.
