The fire broke out at around 2:15 p.m. the same day when a group of 7 workers were repairing a location to prepare for a karaoke business on Nguyen Trai Street, Long Khanh Town (Dong Nai).

The fire spread so quickly that the victims could not escape in time. When people nearby brought the victims out, they were already completely burned.
Although they were rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment, due to severe burns, 6 victims died, the remaining are in critical condition.
Immediately after the incident, Dong Nai Provincial Police forces were present at the scene to extinguish the fire and block off the area to investigate and clarify the cause of the incident.
According to Colonel Huynh Tien Manh, Director of Dong Nai Province Police, the initial cause of the incident was that a group of workers were welding at the above location when the welding machine's spark suddenly caught on flammable materials. The fire then spread and caused the air conditioner to explode, causing the workers to suffer tragic injuries..
