'Beautiful sister' MLee competes in Miss Universe Vietnam 2024
On the evening of July 5, the Miss Universe Vietnam 2024 Organizing Committee posted a photo of contestant Quach Tapiau Mai Ly, known to the audience by her stage name MLee.
This information surprised many viewers, because before that, MLee was a singer and had never participated in any beauty contest. The fact that singer MLee registered to become a contestant in Miss Universe Vietnam 2024 was something no one had thought of before.
Talking about the decision to participate in Miss Universe Vietnam 2024, MLee shared:“One of the turning points that helped me become the person I am today was meeting the amazing women around me.
Participating in a reality TV show last year, I was exposed to and somewhat understood 30 stories - 30 journeys of 30 women, I was inspired by the extremely strong inner strength behind the "superheroines". I am very proud to be next to an independent, self-reliant MLee; it is the love and support from the "sisterhood".
Humans in general and women in particular, are angels with only one wing, and we must embrace each other to fly together. Coming to Miss Universe Vietnam, I want to prove one thing: The inner strength of women is very strong and when we unite, we can do many more great things.
MLee herself knows that she is a new contestant in the beauty field, so she participates in the contest with an open mind and hopes to receive comments and encouragement from the audience.
Signing up at the age of 32, MLee knew this was a big challenge for her, she confided:“The Miss Universe contest no longer has an age limit, the Miss Universe Vietnam 2024 contest also allows contestants from 18 to 33 years old to participate and with MLee there will be no limit, including age... why can't MLee, there will be no limit for you to start!”.
She is also not afraid of being a singer competing, because according to her, all contestants must try their best when entering the contest and each person will have their own preparation journey. To prepare for Miss Universe Vietnam 2024, MLee has planned to practice skills to become a contestant this year.
MLee's real name is Quach Tapiau Mai Ly, born in 1992. She is 1m76 tall, weighs 55kg, and has body measurements: 89-64-94. Before Miss Universe Vietnam 2024, MLee participated in Beautiful Sister Riding the Wind and Breaking the Waves 2023, The Amazing Race 2019…and has more than 10 years of experience in the arts.
