Israel is losing hundreds of millions of dollars daily in its conflict with Iran. This high cost could prevent Tel Aviv from ending the fighting with Tehran anytime soon.

According to TASS on June 20, the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reported that the conflict with Iran is costing Israel hundreds of millions of dollars a day. This could significantly limit Israel's ability to sustain military operations.

According to the WSJ, up to $200 million is spent daily on Israel's air defense. Ammunition and aircraft used to intercept and repel missiles also significantly increase the cost of war.

The Wall Street Journal reports that rising costs could push Israel to end the conflict, as restoring damaged buildings alone could cost at least $400 million.

Israel launched a military operation against Iran on the night of June 13th. Less than a day later, the Islamic Republic of Iran carried out a retaliatory attack. In the following days, the two countries continued to exchange tit-for-tat attacks. Both sides reported casualties and damage from these attacks, and acknowledged striking several targets.

In an interview with the newspaper La Nacion, Rafael Grossi, head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), believes that Iran was not developing nuclear bombs when Israel began its attacks.

"The answer at this point is 'no.' But there are many factors that could lead to that," Grossi said, when asked whether Iran was building a nuclear bomb.

Grossi also cautioned against speculation about the timeframe in which Iran could build a nuclear bomb. "We must be very careful about dating issues. We all remember the tragic statement that Iraq needed 45 minutes to use its weapons...", the IAEA head added.
