Consumer price index (CPI) in October in Nghe An increased by 0.28%
In October 2025, the price of gold continuously set new peaks and reached a record high in history. The price of food, foodstuffs, goods and essential consumer services for daily life increased due to the impact of storm No. 10, which were the main reasons for the consumer price index (CPI) in October 2025 to increase by 0.28% compared to the previous month; and by 2.63% compared to the same period last year.
According to Nghe An Province Statistics, of the 11 main groups of consumer goods and services, 7 groups had price indexes that increased compared to the previous month: Housing, electricity, water, fuel and construction materials increased by 1.35%; Food and catering services increased by 0.48%; Beverages and tobacco increased by 0.19%; Culture, entertainment and tourism increased by 0.15%; Other goods and services increased by 0.1%; Education increased by 0.08%; Clothing, hats, footwear increased by 0.04%. There were 2 groups of price indexes that remained unchanged compared to the previous month: Medicines and medical services; Post and telecommunications. There were 2 groups of price indexes that decreased compared to the previous month: Transportation decreased by 0.97%; Household equipment and appliances decreased by 0.03%.

On average, in the first 10 months of 2025, the consumer price index increased by 2.08% over the same period last year. 8/11 commodity groups increased over the same period last year, including: Medicines and medical services increased by 13.32%; Other goods and services increased by 4.48%; Housing, electricity, water and construction materials increased by 3.9%; Food and catering services increased by 2.91%; Culture, entertainment and tourism increased by 1.44%; Apparel, hats and footwear increased by 1.3%; Beverages and tobacco increased by 1%; Household equipment and appliances increased by 0.71%.
There are 3 groups of goods that decreased compared to the same period last year: transportation decreased by 4.58%; education decreased by 0.67% and post and telecommunications decreased by 0.3%.
The gold price index in October 2025 increased by 17.58% compared to the previous month, and by 69.56% over the same period. The average price for the first 10 months of 2025 increased by 50.07% over the same period. Domestic gold prices fluctuated in the same direction as world gold prices.
The US dollar index increased by 0.43% over the previous month and by 5.57% over the same period. The average for the first 10 months of 2025 increased by 3.2% over the same period.

Total retail sales of goods and consumer services revenue in October 2025 is estimated at VND 14,501.6 billion, up 2.47% over the previous month, up 10.19% over the same period last year. In the first 10 months of 2025, total retail sales of goods and consumer services are estimated at VND 144,769.3 billion, up 14.46% over the same period in 2024. The scale and growth rate of total retail sales of goods and consumer services revenue in the first 10 months of this year are higher than the same period in recent years, reflecting the recovery of domestic consumption demand along with the strong growth of tourism, which has positively contributed to the growth of the trade and service sector.
Retail sales of goods in October 2025 are estimated at VND 11,276 billion, accounting for 77.77% of total retail sales of goods and services, up 2.09% over the previous month and nearly 11% over the same period last year. Accumulated retail sales of goods in the first 10 months of 2025 are estimated at VND 107,544.2 billion, up 14.15% over the same period last year. Retail activities continue to be vibrant, thanks to the expanded supply-demand connection, diversified product types; harmonious combination of traditional trade and e-commerce.
