The consumer price index (CPI) in Nghe An province increased by 0.28% in October.
In October 2025, gold prices continuously reached new highs and historical records. The increase in prices of food, essential goods, and consumer services due to the impact of Typhoon No. 10 was the main reason for the 0.28% increase in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) in October 2025 compared to the previous month and a 2.63% increase compared to the same period last year.
According to statistics from Nghe An province, out of 11 main consumer goods and services groups, 7 groups saw price increases compared to the previous month: Housing, electricity, water, fuel and construction materials increased by 1.35%; Food and food services increased by 0.48%; Beverages and tobacco increased by 0.19%; Culture, entertainment and tourism increased by 0.15%; Other goods and services increased by 0.1%; Education increased by 0.08%; Clothing, hats, and footwear increased by 0.04%. Two groups maintained unchanged prices compared to the previous month: Medicines and medical services; Postal and telecommunications services. Two groups saw price decreases compared to the previous month: Transportation decreased by 0.97%; Household equipment and appliances decreased by 0.03%.

On average, in the first 10 months of 2025, the consumer price index increased by 2.08% compared to the same period of the previous year. Eight out of eleven commodity groups increased year-on-year, including: Medicines and medical services (up 13.32%); Other goods and services (up 4.48%); Housing, electricity, water and construction materials (up 3.9%); Food and catering services (up 2.91%); Culture, entertainment and tourism (up 1.44%); Clothing, hats and footwear (up 1.3%); Beverages and tobacco (up 1%); and Household equipment and appliances (up 0.71%).
Three product groups saw a decrease compared to the same period last year: transportation (down 4.58%), education (down 0.67%), and postal and telecommunications services (down 0.3%).
The gold price index in October 2025 increased by 17.58% compared to the previous month and by 69.56% compared to the same period last year. The average for the first 10 months of 2025 increased by 50.07% compared to the same period last year. Domestic gold prices fluctuated in line with world gold prices.
The US dollar index rose 0.43% compared to the previous month and 5.57% year-on-year. The average for the first 10 months of 2025 was a 3.2% year-on-year increase.

Total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue in October 2025 are estimated at VND 14,501.6 billion, an increase of 2.47% compared to the previous month and a 10.19% increase compared to the same period last year. For the first 10 months of 2025, total retail sales of goods and consumer services are estimated at VND 144,769.3 billion, an increase of 14.46% compared to the same period in 2024. The scale and growth rate of total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue in the first 10 months of this year are higher than in the same period of recent years, reflecting the recovery of domestic consumer demand along with the strong growth of tourism, which has positively contributed to the growth of the trade and service sector.
Retail sales of goods in October 2025 are estimated at VND 11,276 billion, accounting for 77.77% of total retail sales of goods and services, an increase of 2.09% compared to the previous month and nearly 11% compared to the same period last year. Cumulative retail sales for the first 10 months of 2025 are estimated at VND 107,544.2 billion, an increase of 14.15% compared to the same period last year. Retail activity continues to be vibrant, thanks to expanded supply-demand connections, diversified product types, and a harmonious combination of traditional and e-commerce.
