Nghe An's Consumer Price Index (CPI) increased by 0.26% in June.

(Baonghean.vn) - The Nghe An Statistics Department has just announced that the consumer price index (CPI) for June 2023 increased by 0.26% compared to the previous month; increased by 0.74% compared to December 2022 and increased by 1.32% compared to the same period last year.

According to the General Statistics Office, the increase in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) in June was mainly due to rising fuel prices following world fuel price increases; increases in the prices of essential consumer goods and services following input material prices; increases in retail electricity prices as per Decision No. 1062/QD-BCT dated May 4, 2023, of the Ministry of Industry and Trade; and hot weather causing price increases for beverages, electricity, and water.

Of the 11 main groups of goods and services, 7 groups saw price increases compared to the previous month: Other goods and services increased by 0.21%; Beverages and tobacco increased by 0.21%; Culture, entertainment and tourism increased by 0.19%; Transportation increased by 0.15%; Food and catering services increased by 0.77%; Clothing, hats and footwear increased by 0.06%; Household equipment and appliances increased by 0.05%.

One group of goods saw a price decrease compared to the previous month: housing, utilities, and building materials, which fell by 0.31%.

Three groups of indicators remained unchanged compared to the previous month: Medicines and medical services; Education; and Postal and telecommunications services.

On average, in the first six months of 2023, the consumer price index increased by 2.60% compared to the same period of the previous year. Ten commodity groups increased: Education (up 13.4%); Beverages and tobacco (up 6.08%); Food and food services (up 4.68%); Clothing, hats and footwear (up 3.15%); Other goods and services (up 3.07%); Household equipment and appliances (up 2.21%); Housing, electricity, water, fuel and building materials (up 2.04%); Culture, entertainment and tourism (up 1.87%); Medicines and medical services (up 0.20%); and Postal and telecommunications services (up 0.06%). One commodity group decreased compared to the same period: Transportation (down 5.38%).

The gold price index in June 2023 decreased by 0.81% compared to the previous month, but increased by 1.99% year-on-year. The average for the first six months of 2023 increased by 0.72% year-on-year. Domestic gold prices fluctuated in line with world gold prices.

The US dollar index rose 0.05% compared to the previous month, but fell 5.82% year-on-year. The average for the first six months of 2023 decreased by 4.04% year-on-year.

Trade and service activities in the first six months of 2023 were vibrant, with many stimulus programs, networking events, and trade promotion activities being implemented on a wide scale, diversifying the types of goods to meet the shopping and consumption needs of the people.

Total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue in June 2023 were estimated at VND 9,561.8 billion, an increase of 2.99% compared to the previous month and a 9.83% increase compared to the same period last year. For the first six months of 2023, total retail sales of goods and consumer services were estimated at VND 55,408 billion, an increase of 11.98%, of which Q1 reached VND 27,718.39 billion, an increase of 15.86%; and Q2 was estimated at VND 27,689.61 billion, an increase of 8.35%.
