Consumer price index in February 2025 in Nghe An increased by 0.34%
After the Lunar New Year 2025, people's daily life and shopping needs will return to normal. The consumer market is relatively stable, with no sudden price increases due to guaranteed supply.
The full moon of January falls in February 2025, so people's demand for shopping and travel increases, prices of food, foodstuffs, eating out, and public transportation services increase, which is the main reason why the consumer price index (CPI) in February increased by 0.34% compared to the previous month.
According to the Nghe An Provincial Statistics Office, among the 11 main groups of goods and services, 4 groups of goods had price indexes increasing compared to the previous month, including: Food and catering services increased by 0.91%; Transportation increased by 0.49%; Clothing, hats, footwear increased by 0.06% and beverages and tobacco increased by 0.04%.

There are 4 groups of goods with price indexes decreasing compared to the previous month, including: Housing, electricity, water and construction materials decreased by 0.24%; Culture, entertainment and tourism decreased by 0.14%; Other goods and services decreased by 0.07%; Household equipment and appliances decreased by 0.01%.
There are 3 groups of goods that did not increase or decrease compared to the previous month: Medicine and medical services, post and telecommunications, and education.
On average, in the first two months of 2025, the consumer price index increased by 2.26% over the same period last year. There were 8/11 commodity groups with price indexes increasing compared to the previous month, including: Medicines and medical services increased by 13.38%; Other goods and services increased by 6.91%; Housing, electricity, water, fuel and construction materials increased by 4.03%; Food and catering services increased by 2.45%; Culture, entertainment and tourism increased by 1.22%; Apparel, hats and footwear increased by 0.97%; Household appliances and goods increased by 0.88% and beverages and tobacco increased by 0.71%.
There were 3/11 goods with price indexes decreasing compared to the previous month including: Transportation decreased by 2.49%; Education decreased by 0.85% and post and telecommunications decreased by 0.54%.

The gold price index in February 2025 increased by 5.55% compared to the previous month and 55.16% compared to the same period last year. The average price for the first 2 months increased by 51.97% compared to the same period last year. Domestic gold prices fluctuated in the same direction as world gold prices.
The US dollar index in February 2025 increased by 0.04% compared to the previous month and by 2.82% compared to the same period last year. The average increase in the first 2 months was 3.27% compared to the same period last year.
Total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue in February 2025 is estimated at VND 14,064.8 billion, down 7.08% over the previous month, up 21.49% over the same period last year. In the first two months of 2025, total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue is estimated at VND 29,200.8 billion, up 52.23% over the same period last year.
