The consumer price index in Nghe An province increased by 0.34% in February 2025.
After the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Snake 2025, people's daily lives and consumer needs returned to normal. The consumer market was relatively stable, with no sudden price increases due to guaranteed supply.
Since the full moon of the first lunar month falls in February 2025, increased consumer demand for shopping and travel, leading to higher prices for food, dining out, and public transportation. This is the main reason why the consumer price index (CPI) in February increased by 0.34% compared to the previous month.
According to the Nghe An Provincial Statistics Department, among the 11 main groups of goods and services, 4 groups saw price increases compared to the previous month: Food and food services increased by 0.91%; Transportation increased by 0.49%; Clothing, hats, and footwear increased by 0.06%; and Beverages and tobacco increased by 0.04%.

Four groups of goods saw a decrease in price index compared to the previous month: Housing, electricity, water and construction materials decreased by 0.24%; Culture, entertainment and tourism decreased by 0.14%; Other goods and services decreased by 0.07%; Household equipment and appliances decreased by 0.01%.
There are 3 product groups that neither increased nor decreased compared to the previous month: Medicines and medical services, postal and telecommunications services, and education.
On average, the consumer price index (CPI) increased by 2.26% in the first two months of 2025 compared to the same period of the previous year. Eight out of eleven commodity groups saw price increases compared to the previous month, including: Medicines and medical services (up 13.38%); Other goods and services (up 6.91%); Housing, electricity, water, fuel and building materials (up 4.03%); Food and catering services (up 2.45%); Culture, entertainment and tourism (up 1.22%); Clothing, hats and footwear (up 0.97%); Household equipment and appliances (up 0.88%); and Beverages and tobacco (up 0.71%).
Three out of eleven goods saw a decrease in price index compared to the previous month: Transportation decreased by 2.49%; Education decreased by 0.85%; and postal and telecommunications services decreased by 0.54%.

The gold price index in February 2025 increased by 5.55% compared to the previous month and by 55.16% compared to the same period last year. The average increase over the first two months was 51.97% compared to the same period last year. Domestic gold prices fluctuated in line with world gold prices.
The US dollar index in February 2025 increased by 0.04% compared to the previous month and by 2.82% compared to the same period last year. The average increase over the two months was 3.27% compared to the same period last year.
Total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue in February 2025 are estimated at VND 14,064.8 billion, a decrease of 7.08% compared to the previous month, but an increase of 21.49% compared to the same period last year. For the first two months of 2025, total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue are estimated at VND 29,200.8 billion, an increase of 52.23% compared to the same period last year.
