The consumer price index in Nghe An province decreased by 0.40% in September.
According to the Nghe An Provincial Statistics Office, the consumer price index (CPI) in September 2024 decreased by 0.40% compared to the previous month and increased by 1.55% compared to the same period last year.
In September 2024, gasoline and diesel prices were adjusted downwards in line with national prices, educational services were implemented according to Decision 1966/SGD&ĐT-KHTC dated September 5, 2024, and prices of essential consumer goods and services decreased. These were the main reasons for the 0.40% decrease in the consumer price index in September 2024 compared to the previous month.

Among the 11 main groups of goods and services, 4 groups saw a decrease in price index compared to the previous month: Transportation decreased by 4.7%; Education decreased by 1.06%; Beverages and tobacco decreased by 0.4%; Culture, entertainment and tourism decreased by 0.02%.
Four groups of goods saw price indices increase compared to the previous month: Housing, electricity, water and construction materials increased by 0.49%; Food and food services increased by 0.4%; Clothing, hats, shoes and sandals increased by 0.22%; Other goods and services increased by 0.15%.
There are 3 groups of indicators that remained unchanged compared to the previous month: Medicines and medical services; Household equipment and supplies; and Postal and telecommunications services.

On average, the consumer price index increased by 3.39% in the first nine months of 2024 compared to the same period of the previous year.
Nine out of eleven commodity groups showed an increase compared to the same period last year, including: Housing, electricity, water, fuel and building materials (up 9.21%); Other goods and services (up 6.93%); Medicines and medical services (up 5.52%); Food and catering services (up 3.62%); Beverages and tobacco (up 1.67%); Culture, entertainment and tourism (up 1.38%); Household equipment and appliances (up 1.22%); Clothing, hats and footwear (up 0.53%); and Education (up 0.41%).
Two product groups saw a decrease compared to the same period last year: Transportation, down 0.41%, and Postal and Telecommunications, down 0.35%.

The gold price index in September 2024 increased by 1.82% compared to the previous month and by 43.81% compared to the same period last year. The average for the first nine months of 2024 increased by 42.38% compared to the same period last year. Domestic gold prices fluctuated in line with world gold prices.
The US dollar index fell 1.84% compared to the previous month, but rose 1.78% year-on-year. The average for the first nine months of 2024 was a 3.62% increase year-on-year.
