Nghe An's industrial production index increased by over 11% in August.

In August 2024, Nghe An's industrial production index maintained its growth momentum compared to the previous month and the same period last year.

The industrial production index for August 2024 is estimated to increase by 11.14% year-on-year. Specifically: Mining industry increased by 37.64%; Electricity, gas, hot water, steam and air conditioning production and distribution increased by 13.39%; Manufacturing industry increased by 9.88%; and Water supply, waste management and wastewater treatment increased by 4.99%.

In August 2024, businesses accelerated production, expanded their scale of operations, and many new projects were launched and put into operation. Several new factories, after a trial period, had stable commercial production, contributing to the growth of the industry, such as: Taical additive granules factory, electronic components, automotive parts and components, solar energy battery modules; and leather shoes.

Some products showed significant growth compared to the same period last year, such as: Beer can packaging, estimated at 551.4 tons, double the previous amount; and construction stone, estimated at 499.9 thousand cubic meters.3Production of non-microphone headphones increased by 95.48%, reaching an estimated 6.9 million units, up 92.10%; production of electrical cable manufacturing services reached an estimated 521.7 billion VND, up 49.0%; processed stone reached an estimated 99.8 thousand m3, up 37.71%; charging docks reached an estimated 1.6 million units, up 20.71%; fresh milk reached an estimated 19.9 million liters, up 15.60%; electricity production in the month reached an estimated 469.1 million kWh, up 14.74%; cement clinker reached an estimated 724.3 thousand tons, up 14.08%; animal feed reached an estimated 15.5 thousand tons, up 13.21%.

Despite favorable conditions, some businesses are still facing difficulties in production, including decreased exports, difficulty securing orders, high input material prices, and inability to recruit the required workforce. Furthermore, some products are experiencing slow market demand, shortages of input materials, and low production volumes, such as: BSE loudspeakers (estimated at 3.5 million units, down 50.12%); fish sauce (estimated at 28.0 million liters, down 22.51%); wood shavings and chips (estimated at 23.3 thousand tons, down 17.98%); cardboard boxes (estimated at 2.4 million units, down 17.06%); NPK chemical fertilizers (estimated at 2.5 thousand tons, down 16.67%); paper packaging (estimated at 3.8 million units, down 15.59%); and bottled beer (estimated at 3.7 million liters, down 15.49%). Roofing sheet production is estimated at 105.2 thousand tons, a decrease of 11.09%; cement production is estimated at 693.9 thousand tons, a decrease of 2.59%.

Overall, in the first eight months of 2024, the industrial production index increased by 10.35% compared to the same period last year. Specifically: the electricity, gas, hot water, steam and air conditioning production and distribution sector increased by 15.75%; manufacturing increased by 10.01%; water supply, waste management and treatment increased by 7.38%; and mining increased by 5.32%.

The industrial production index increased due to businesses' efforts to resume production, some factories securing new orders at the beginning of the year, increased exports, and some products finding markets, leading to more stable production.
