Along the Nghi Son (Thanh Hoa) - Cua Lo (Nghe An) coastal road, there are numerous bridges of varying sizes spanning river and stream estuaries, connecting coastal communities that have long been separated by the waterways.

The Nghi Son (Thanh Hoa) - Cua Lo (Nghe An) coastal road section from Km7 to Km76 is one of the key transportation projects expected to create a development boost for the North Central region. With a total investment of over 4,651 billion VND, the road is designed according to the standards of a Class III road in a flat area, with a roadbed width of 12m and a road surface width of 11m, ensuring both traffic safety and suitability to the characteristics of the coastal terrain.

Along the entire route, there are 8 bridges crossing rivers and estuaries, including 5 large bridges such as Hoang Mai, Lach Quen, Cua Thoi, Lach Van, and Nghi Quang, and 3 smaller bridges such as Tan Long, Nha Le Canal, and Nghi Tan - which not only connect transportation but also create scenic highlights for the coastal strip.

Construction began in February 2022, and the project is expected to be completed in early 2026. Upon completion, the road will provide seamless connectivity between the coastal economic and service centers of Thanh Hoa and Nghe An provinces; linking the Vissai International Seaport, Cua Lo Port, DKC Port, and a chain of rapidly developing coastal tourism areas. This will not only be a new economic driving force but also contribute to strengthening national defense and security in the maritime region; expanding urban space, creating an attractive landscape axis to promote coastal tourism. The completed road will open up new opportunities for investment, trade, and sustainable development in the coastal region of Nghe An.
