The search operation for MH370 has ended, costing $160 million.
(Baonghean.vn) - After nearly three years, the search for the ill-fated MH370 aircraft of Malaysia Airlines has ended in vain. Australian officials said that rescue forces have concluded their search in a vast area of the Indian Ocean without finding any trace of the ill-fated plane.
The Australian Joint Coordination Centre (JACC), which led the search for the Boeing 777 off the coast of western Australia, said the search operation has officially ended after rescue teams completed a fruitless search across a 120,000 square kilometer area.2Over the past three years, this search operation has cost up to $160 million.

The JACC statement said, “Despite all efforts using the most advanced scientific equipment, breakthrough technologies, and advice from leading experts, we are unfortunately unable to locate the MH370 aircraft.”
Although officials from the countries involved suggested that search forces move towards the northern area to pinpoint a new location, the Canberra government rejected this proposal.

Last year, Australia, Malaysia, and China agreed to suspend the search unless new clues emerged to locate the crashed plane. But to date, the plane's location remains unknown, signifying that the most expensive and complex search operation in aviation history has ended without success.
