Goals: Giroud (37'), Cork (own goal 54'), Naughton (own goal 67'), Sanchez (73').
After a difficult start, Arsenal opened the scoring at the end of the first half thanks to a close-range finish from Olivier Giroud. The French striker has scored in all five of his most recent appearances for Arsenal.
In the second half, Alex Iwobi contributed to both of Arsenal's next two goals but was not named on the scoreboard. First, Iwobi's cross deflected off Jack Cork's foot and went over goalkeeper Fabianski's head. Next, Kyle Naughton assisted Arsenal with a touch that resembled a shot after Iwobi's initial strike.
The match was sealed with a 4-0 victory after a quick finish from Alexis Sanchez. This was also Sanchez's 14th goal in the Premier League, putting him at the top of the Golden Boot list alongside Diego Costa of Chelsea.
Arsenal's emphatic victory over Swansea propelled them to third place with 44 points. Wenger's side are level on points with Liverpool but ahead on goal difference. Liverpool will overtake them if they avoid defeat to Manchester United in Sunday's match.
Meanwhile, Swansea returned to their familiar bottom spot. In the other match played at the same time, Hull beat Bournemouth 3-1, pushing the Welsh team down to 20th place. This was new manager Paul Clement's first Premier League match, and he immediately felt the pressure of the relegation battle.

Arsenal's poor away form has been a major factor in their recent title struggles. In their last three away Premier League matches, Arsenal have only managed to secure one point. While it seemed they might repeat that pattern against Swansea, they ultimately won thanks to their excellent finishing.
Ozil returned to the starting lineup and made his mark in the opening goal with a header that deflected off a Swansea defender and landed at Giroud's feet. The French striker, of course, didn't miss the opportunity, given his surprisingly sharp form recently. Giroud has scored 12 goals from just 17 shots in his last season's matches – a phenomenal performance that seems uncharacteristic of a striker often criticized by his own fans as being "clumsy".
Giroud's goal changed the entire game. While Swansea had previously been a frustrating opponent for Arsenal, the opening goal completely shifted the momentum in the visitors' favor. Arsenal were fortunate with the second and third goals, but that was somewhat inevitable given Wenger's men's complete control of the area in front of Swansea's penalty box.
Alexis Sanchez sealed the match with a goal that extended the lead to 4-0. The Chilean striker continued to demonstrate his value as a key player, despite his contract with the club remaining a subject of recent discussion.
