On the afternoon of July 17th, Nghe An province reported 3 new cases of Covid-19.
(Baonghean.vn) - Of the 3 new cases, 2 are in Ky Son district; 1 case is a driver passing through from Ho Chi Minh City.
On the afternoon of July 17th, Dr. Nguyen Van Dinh, Director of the Nghe An Center for Disease Control, reported that in the past 12 hours (from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM on July 17th), Nghe An recorded 3 new cases testing positive for Covid-19 (including 2 cases in Ky Son district and 1 case who was a driver passing through from Ho Chi Minh City). The two patients in Ky Son district are members of the same family and had been previously quarantined.

First new Covid-19 casePatient XTD, female, born in 1973. Occupation: Farmer. Address: La Ngan village, Chieu Luu commune, Ky Son district. Patient XTD is a close contact (F1) of patient LVS (in Cham Puong village, Luong Minh commune, Tuong Duong district) who was previously announced. On July 16th, patient XTD was placed under medical quarantine at Chieu Luu Primary School and a sample was taken and sent to the Nghe An CDC for testing. On July 17th, the test results confirmed positive for the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
Second new Covid-19 casePatient MTC is a female, born in 1994. Occupation: Farmer. Address: La Ngan village, Chieu Luu commune, Ky Son district. Patient MTC is the daughter-in-law of patient XTD and is a close contact (F1) of patient LVS (in Cham Puong village, Luong Minh commune, Tuong Duong district) who was previously announced. On July 16th, patient MTC was placed under medical quarantine at Chieu Luu Primary School and a sample was taken and sent to the Nghe An CDC for testing. On July 17th, the test results confirmed positive for the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
Third new Covid-19 casePatient NNH, male, born in 1985. Occupation: Driver. Current address: Ward 8, District 6, Ho Chi Minh City. On July 13th, patient NNH had an RT-PCR test in Ho Chi Minh City which returned a negative result. On July 15th, the patient drove a truck carrying goods from Song Than Industrial Park, Binh Duong province to Mong Cai city, Quang Ninh province for delivery. At 1:00 AM on July 17th, patient NNH went to Minh An General Hospital, Quynh Luu district to request a rapid Covid-19 test before traveling to Mong Cai city, Quang Ninh province. The rapid test results were positive twice. The patient was immediately isolated at Minh An General Hospital and a sample was sent to the Nghe An CDC. On July 17th, the confirmatory test result was positive for the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
To date, Nghe An has had157 patientsCovid-19 cases were detected in 12 localities, specifically: Vinh City: 90, Tuong Duong: 21 cases, Dien Chau: 18, Nam Dan: 6, Quynh Luu: 6, Quy Hop: 5, Nghi Loc: 4, Hoang Mai: 2, Ky Son: 2 cases, Do Luong: 1, Nghia Dan: 1, Tan Ky: 1... The cumulative number of patients who tested positive again is 7, of which 1 patient has been discharged. The cumulative number of patients who have recovered and been discharged is 52. The number of patients currently under treatment is 102. The cumulative number of deaths is 1.
Over the past 12 hours, the Nghe An CDC has received 352 samples (84 F1 contacts). Results have been confirmed: 3 samples positive; 223 samples negative; 126 samples are currently undergoing testing and awaiting results.
In response to the COVID-19 outbreak in Ky Son district, on the afternoon of July 17th, the Ky Son District Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control held an emergency meeting to implement COVID-19 prevention and control measures. Dr. Pham Dinh Du, Deputy Director of the Nghe An Provincial Center for Disease Control, attended and chaired the meeting.

The district authorities have implemented temporary lockdowns and checkpoints on trails and pathways used by residents. Those who had close contact with the patient have been listed and instructed to self-isolate at home as per regulations. Ky Son district has also planned to provide food and supplies to poor and disadvantaged households in the lockdown area.
Ky Son District requested communes and towns to strengthen propaganda efforts among all segments of the population, especially in temporarily locked-down areas; advising people not to gather in groups of 10 or more, and strictly handling cases violating the 5K principles on epidemic prevention…/.
