This afternoon (July 15th), the Chau Thang hydroelectric reservoir will be operated to regulate water levels.
The Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense has just issued urgent notice No. 96/TB-VP.PCTT regarding the operation and regulation of the Chau Thang hydroelectric reservoir.
The announcement stated that at 8:10 AM, the Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense received Notice No. 01/TB-PQP dated July 15, 2024, from PRIME Que Phong Joint Stock Company regarding the operation and regulation of water levels in the Chau Thang hydroelectric reservoir due to the increasing inflow into the reservoir.
To ensure the safe operation of water discharge from the Chau Thang hydropower reservoir in accordance with the approved single-reservoir and multi-reservoir operating procedures on the Ca River basin, PRIME Que Phong Joint Stock Company announces the following planned water regulation operation schedule for the Chau Thang hydropower reservoir:
Expected discharge time:1:30 PM on July 15, 2024.
Discharge rate: Total discharge rate from76 m³/s - 500 m³/s(including discharge flow through the sluice gates and power generation flow through the generating units) and may vary depending on the level of water inflow into the reservoir.
Drainage will end when the effects of the heavy rainfall have subsided.

The Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense hereby informs the People's Committees of Que Phong and Quy Chau districts; the heads of provincial departments and agencies; and the Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Control of the Ban Mong Reservoir project to notify all levels of government, agencies, units, investors currently constructing along and on the river, owners of water transport vessels, and all people in the downstream area of the Chau Thang Hydropower Plant to implement necessary measures to ensure the safety of lives and property of the State and the people.
