Opening CeremonyThe 23rd Youth - Children's Football Tournament of Nghe An Newspaper Cup - 2019 took place on the afternoon of June 11 at Vinh City Stadium. Attending the ceremonyThere were comrades: Nguyen Xuan Son - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Nguyen Van Thong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Nam Dinh - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Provincial Agencies Bloc; Tran Duy Ngoan - Chairman of the Journalists Association.province; leaders of provincial departments, branches and sectors.

On the side of the Organizing Committee, there were comrades: Pham Thi Hong Toan - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nghe An Newspaper, Head of the Organizing Committee; Nguyen Thi Thanh Huong - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture & Sports, Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee; Mr. Nguyen Hong Thanh - General Director of Song Lam Nghe An Football Joint Stock Company; representatives of sponsors and a large number of fans.

The 23rd Nghe An Newspaper Cup Youth Football Tournament 2019 took place from June 11 to 17, 2019. This year's tournament had nearly 500 players, 32 teams participating, including 20 Children's teams, 12 Youth teams from 21 districts, cities and towns in the province; 11 localities participated in both youth and children's age groups, including: Quynh Luu, Quy Hop, Vinh city, Thanh Chuong, Hung Nguyen, Tan Ky, Nghia Dan, Do Luong, Dien Chau, Nam Dan, Yen Thanh.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the tournament, comrade Pham Thi Hong Toan - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nghe An Newspaper, Head of the Organizing Committee of the tournament stated: The Nghe An Newspaper Cup Youth and Children Football Tournament was established in 1996, originating from the enthusiasm of those working in the Party's press and in the province's cultural and sports sector.

After 22 seasons, the Nghe An Newspaper Cup Youth and Children Football Tournament has become an official annual tournament in Nghe An province.

The tournament has become more and more impressive, creating a healthy, useful and interesting playground for teenagers and children during the summer; contributing to promoting the socialization of sports in the province, the development of Nghe An football and the whole country.

From this tournament, many young players from all over Nghe An province joined clubs, were trained and became top football stars in Vietnam such as Van Quyen, Cong Vinh, Duong Hong Son, Cong Phuong, Nguyen Manh, Que Ngoc Hai, Phan Van Duc, Pham Xuan Manh... Hundreds of players who grew up from the Nghe An Newspaper Cup have been playing for professional, first and second division teams at home and abroad as well as for Vietnam's national teams.

To achieve such success and strong spread, besides the constant efforts of the Organizing Committee, there is also the special attention of the provincial leaders, all levels, sectors, localities, parents, teenagers and children in the whole province, and sponsors who have accompanied the tournament for many years such as Saigon - Nghe Tinh Beer Joint Stock Company, Nghe An Agricultural Materials Corporation, Trung Do Joint Stock Company, Hanoi Housing Investment and Development Joint Stock Company No. 30, Golden City Joint Stock Company, Mai Linh Taxi, Hoang Mai Cement, Viettel, Tecco Group, The Vissai... and dozens of other sponsors.

This year, the tournament has PVF Football Training Center joining as a sponsor for the tournament. The support of this leading football training center in Vietnam is the most vivid evidence for the spread and increasing level of the Youth Football Tournament - Nghe An Newspaper Cup.

At the opening ceremony, the provincial leaders presented meaningful gifts to the teams participating in the tournament. Along with that, the Organizing Committee awarded Certificates of Merit for “Playing football well, studying well” to 164 players with excellent academic achievements.
