The demolition of the C5 and C6 Quang Trung apartment buildings has officially begun.
After relocating 140 households, Thanh Vinh ward, in coordination with the main investor, officially commenced the demolition of buildings C5 and C6 of the Quang Trung apartment complex. The first machinery operations marked the end of the more than 50-year history of the two buildings, while simultaneously opening a new chapter in the renovation and reconstruction of area C, contributing to the safety of residents and urban beautification.
These days, in the area of buildings C5 and C6 of the Quang Trung apartment complex, many machines and equipment have been mobilized to carry out the partial dismantling of the structures of the buildings that have been home to many generations of residents - marking a special moment for the apartment complex with a history of more than half a century.
According to reports, the demolition was carried out after Thanh Vinh ward completed the relocation of all 140 households living in buildings C5 and C6. These two buildings had been assessed by specialized agencies and classified as D - the highest level of danger for apartment buildings according to regulations.

The relocation of residents was carried out according to Decision No. 1416 of the People's Committee of Thanh Vinh Ward. During the implementation process, the ward mobilized relevant departments and units to strengthen propaganda, persuasion, and explanation to help people understand the level of danger posed by the construction, while also creating favorable conditions for households to move people and property in the correct order and schedule.
Ms. Pham Thi Huyen, a resident of Quang Trung apartment building, shared: “Seeing the buildings that were once home to our families and our youth being demolished, we still feel a sense of sadness. But we all understand that this is necessary, because the buildings are dilapidated, and relocating and rebuilding will provide people with new, safer, and more spacious homes.”

Mr. Nguyen Sy Dieu, Chairman of the People's Committee of Thanh Vinh Ward, said that in accordance with the direction of the Provincial People's Committee, the ward has focused on implementing land clearance work at buildings C5 and C6, involving 140 households. The process has been carried out in the correct order, while also emphasizing propaganda and mobilization efforts to create consensus among the people.
According to Mr. Dieu, the completion of the relocation of residents and the demolition of buildings C5 and C6 is of significant importance, creating a clean site for the investor to implement the renovation and reconstruction project of the Quang Trung apartment complex (Block C). This is also a concrete step in realizing the urban beautification policy, gradually replacing old, dilapidated apartment buildings with a new, synchronized, modern, and safer housing system.
During the relocation process, Thanh Vinh ward provided financial assistance of 5 million VND per household for moving expenses; at the same time, it supported temporary housing rental costs of 5 million VND per month for 6 months, creating conditions for people to stabilize their lives while waiting to receive their resettlement apartments.

According to the renovation and reconstruction project for Block C of the Quang Trung apartment complex, Hanoi Housing Investment and Development Joint Stock Company No. 30 is the investor. Buildings CT3A and CT3B were constructed to resettle residents from buildings C2, C3, C4, C5, and C6.
Specifically, CT3A is the resettlement area for households from C5 and C6. The construction is basically complete, and infrastructure items are currently being implemented, including the completion of the electricity, water, fire protection, and other auxiliary systems. According to the plan, the project will be handed over and put into use before August 30th.
After completing the relocation of residents in buildings C5 and C6, Thanh Vinh ward is continuing to focus on relocating residents in the remaining three buildings, C2, C3, and C4, totaling 240 households. According to Decision No. 2452/QD-UBND dated August 17, 2026, households and individuals who are the legal owners or users of apartments in these three buildings must move themselves and all their belongings out of the apartment buildings within 30 days from the effective date of the decision.

Currently, Thanh Vinh ward is mobilizing the entire political system, intensifying propaganda and persuasion efforts, and coordinating with the investor to accelerate the construction progress of resettlement housing. Building CT3B - where resettlement housing is arranged for households C2, C3, and C4 - is being constructed with concentrated manpower and machinery by the investor. It is currently completed up to the 14th floor, with the goal of completing the rough construction before September 30th, conducting acceptance testing in November, and handing over apartments to residents before December 31st, 2026.
Earlier, during a site inspection of the resettlement project for relocating residents from the Quang Trung apartment building, Mr. Hoang Phu Hien – Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee – requested relevant departments, localities, and the investor to focus on resolving difficulties and accelerating the relocation of residents from dangerous apartment buildings, especially before the rainy and stormy season. The investor was requested to mobilize maximum human and material resources, increase shifts, and accelerate the construction of resettlement buildings, ensuring quality and completion as committed.
