Glassware is an indispensable item, therefore it is essential to choose and use it correctly to ensure safety and enhance its aesthetic appeal.

Glassware has long been a familiar and integral part of everyday life in every household. Drinking glasses, wine glasses, beer glasses… are not only used daily in your home but are also chosen as gifts for relatives, friends, and business partners during holidays and special occasions. Furthermore, an essential factor is health safety.

Walking around places selling glass cups, one can see that, in addition to diverse and eye-catching designs and shapes, glass cups are also attractive in terms of price. However, according to experts, if not carefully researched, consumers may buy glass products from China. Although cheap and beautiful, these are very toxic and seriously affect human health.

In numerous rounds of testing by authorities, substandard glass cups have consistently shown levels of lead (Pb) and cadmium (Cd) thousands of times higher than the reference standards. Some samples even contained Cd levels exceeding the permissible limit by more than 600 times, and Pb levels by nearly 4,000 times.

Besides choosing the right design, using glass cups correctly can contribute to better health.

If users inadvertently ingest these toxins, they will penetrate various organs, accumulate in the bones, and affect the blood and nervous system. More seriously, long-term cadmium poisoning can cause rickets and developmental delays in children, osteoporosis in the elderly, or even death in severe cases.

According to Mr. Nguyen Huu Hoang, Director of Trung Huy Co., Ltd., glass is a silicate-based solid, which is a toxic element, and in highly corrosive environments (such as salty, acidic, or alkaline environments) or at high temperatures, lead can easily leach out and potentially enter the human body.

For glass products, if lead and impurities are not completely removed, or if recycled glass is used, it can be harmful. Glassware containing high levels of lead (such as glasses and cups) often produces a very resonant sound (a "clanging" sound) when tapped, similar to the sound of metal; while pure glass products do not produce such a sound.

To avoid the harmful effects of using low-quality glassware, experts advise consumers to carefully choose glass products from reputable brands. Ocean, for example, is a well-known brand throughout Asia for its reliability and quality. With modern technology and international standards, Ocean glassware provides peace of mind regarding health and satisfaction for all customers. The Ocean factory also produces Lucaris, a well-known brand of crystal glassware.

In our busy lives, we often get caught up in the grind of work and daily worries, forgetting the need for enjoyment and relaxation. A meal together, a gathering with friends amidst the hustle and bustle of life, can truly provide moments of comfortable relaxation.

And those moments are when you can slow down, enjoy life, and in those moments, a glass is an indispensable item in gatherings, contributing to a more enjoyable experience, showcasing a stylish lifestyle, and demonstrating sophistication in choosing utensils.

In hotels and restaurants, people often choose appropriate glasses for each type of beverage to enhance presentation, demonstrate professional service, and showcase sophistication in culinary art.

In each household, depending on the beverage, you can choose several suitable types of glasses. For example, for daily drinking, choose glasses with a capacity of 195ml-345ml, available in many styles. Among them, glasses with short stems and large bowls are often used for parties.

For soft drinks, fruit juices, and iced coffee, choose glasses with a straight design. Beer glasses should have handles and thick walls to keep the beer cold. Especially in Vietnam, where beer and carbonated drinks are often served with ice cubes, a "Fizzup" glass is recommended. This type of glass is manufactured using new technology that laser-engraves the bottom of the glass, increasing the effervescence of the beer and carbonated drinks, enhancing and preserving their flavor for longer. With a capacity of 400ml, a smooth body, and a thick, elegant base, it provides a relaxing experience for the user.

For those who enjoy spirits, stemmed glasses with a capacity of 255ml-650ml are suitable for drinking cognac, brandy, and cider. For white wine, choose glasses with clear, thin glass that allows you to easily see the wine, a small rim diameter to retain the aroma, and a tall stem for easy handling and to avoid direct hand contact with the wine.

For red wine, choose a larger glass than for white wine (230ml, 425ml, or 650ml). The glass should be clear, with a large, round, and wide bowl to allow the wine to breathe. For champagne and sparkling wine, choose a tall, slender glass with a narrow rim and clear glass to retain the bubbles for longer, creating a more enjoyable experience.
