MC Hoang Oanh once shared that her ex-husband regularly returns to Vietnam once a month to visit their son, Max. Even when busy, he still frequently calls to check on their son. She said that it's important for both parents to spend time with their child so that the child receives complete love and affection.
"Every month, Max's father comes to visit his child once, and each time he stays for a long time. I often joke, 'Why are you so stubborn?' I make sure to spend time with him whenever I have the chance. The moments when both parents are together are very important, giving the child all their love," Hoang Oanh once shared.
Hoang Oanh married American businessman Jack Cole in 2019 and they have a son together, Max, who is now 5 years old. The couple announced their divorce in 2022.
Hoang Oanh's journey as a single mother
After her marriage ended, Hoang Oanh chose to be a single mother and focus on raising her son. The female MC admitted that this journey was not easy, requiring her to be strong enough to be both a mother and a father in raising her child.
"Being a single mother is not easy. I can't keep maintaining the image of a delicate, demure girl when I have a son who needs guidance and nurturing to become a mature and responsible young man. I have to be both a mother and a father," she confided.
Hoang Oanh also shared her parenting approach, saying she tries not to overprotect her children so they can develop naturally, while encouraging them to interact with both sides of the family to absorb the language and culture.
