Husband sets wife on fire with gasoline out of jealousy.

Suspecting his wife of having an affair, during an argument, the husband poured gasoline on her and set her on fire.

On the afternoon of July 25th, the Binh Son District Police in Quang Ngai province reported that a husband had set his wife on fire with gasoline in Binh Trung commune, Binh Son district.

Earlier that day, at around 8 a.m., Tran Van Lam, 47, residing in Tien Dao village, Binh Trung commune, had an argument with his wife, Trinh Thi Thu Thuy, 37. After the argument, Tran Van Lam poured gasoline on Thuy and set her on fire.

Ms. Thuy ran outside shouting for help, but the gate was locked. Hearing the commotion, Ms. Tran Thi Thu, a neighbor, called several people to climb over the fence to help Ms. Thuy put out the fire and take her to Quang Ngai General Hospital for emergency treatment. Due to the severity of her injuries, Ms. Thuy was subsequently transferred to Da Nang General Hospital for further treatment.

According to some nearby residents, the couple had an argument on the afternoon of July 24th. The initial reason was that Tran Van Lam suspected Thuy of having an affair.

The incident is currently being investigated by the Binh Son District Police.
