Hong Nhung's husband: 'My wife and I make the most of every moment we have together'

Kevin Gilmore, the husband of "Miss Bong," said that their conflicting work schedules mean he and his wife rarely have private time together during holidays.

On February 14th, Hong Nhung will perform at the "Thank You for Love" concert in Hanoi. When asked what he would do to support her or create a surprise for her on Valentine's Day, her husband said that he also had to go to Australia for work on that day, so he couldn't come with the children to support his wife.

Not being able to spend time together privately on Valentine's Day has become a habit for Hong Nhung's husband. Kevin Gilmore confided: "Nhung has to work on most holidays, from Valentine's Day, New Year's, Christmas to Women's Day. But that's my wife's job and I respect that. The great thing is that after each show, Nhung gets one or two days off. Then my wife and I can spend time together and do what we want."

Kevin said that the way he and his wife spend time together is somewhat different from typical couples. Hong Nhung often works evenings in Vietnam, while his job usually starts early in the morning, sometimes even requiring him to travel abroad. Therefore, whenever they have free time during the day, he, Hong Nhung, and their children make time to care for and look after each other. "I am very grateful for those moments," he confided.

Although they don't have much private time together, the couple always try to share both the joys and the pressures and worries of life. Kevin said: "We try to share everything equally. However, Nhung's work requires a lot of public interaction, so whenever there's a big program or event, I prioritize her. If at any time my family needs someone at home to take care of the children, I will proactively change my schedule to be with them. I can be more flexible because my job is more stable than Nhung's."

In raising their children, Hong Nhung and Kevin have always received mutual agreement and support from each other. Kevin affirms that culture is not a major barrier in his and Hong Nhung's private life. Besides mutual understanding and empathy, he lived in Vietnam for a long time, so he clearly sees the differences and advantages and disadvantages in parenting styles between the two cultures. Kevin believes that what connects the two of them is their desire for Tom and Tep to excel in their studies, work hard, persevere in pursuing their dreams, and most importantly, be happy.

"My biggest fear, Nhung's and I, is that our two children will become spoiled. Therefore, we always try to give them as normal a childhood as possible. My wife and I want our children to have a great love for the culture, environment, and society they live in," he shared.

Hong Nhung's husband is an American businessman named Kevin Gilmore, who is three years younger than her. They met through a friend and later had many opportunities to meet during golf games or sports activities. Hong Nhung once confided that despite his younger age, Kevin is mature, experienced, and knowledgeable. That's why she fell for him. Hong Nhung also praised her husband for being discreet and gentle, so their family rarely argues. In 2012, Hong Nhung gave birth to twins, nicknamed her son Tom and her daughter Tep. Whenever possible, Kevin and their two children come to support her at the programs and events she participates in.
