Husband and father-in-law suffer from kidney failure, poor wife helplessly watches her young child fall seriously ill.
A poor family in Tru Son 4 hamlet, Bach Ha commune, Nghe An province, has two members who need dialysis, and their young child is often sick.

The pain of illness
For the past three years, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Thong (Tru Son 4 hamlet, Bach Ha commune) has had to regularly go to the second facility of Vinh City General Hospital for dialysis. From a healthy young man, the main breadwinner of his family, Mr. Thong now has to go to the hospital for blood filtration and dialysis three times a week.
The burden of illness weighs heavily on Mr. Thong's family, as his father, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Son, has also suffered from kidney disease for nearly 10 years and is now in the end-stage of kidney failure.
Although they have a house, Mr. Thong and his son live in a small alley on Le Ninh Street (Vinh Hung Ward), a neighborhood for dialysis patients. The terrible disease has devastated their family financially; the two live precariously there, enduring both physical and mental pain due to their illness and constant separation from their family. They rely on charitable groups for daily food rations.

We desperately need sharing.
Mr. Thong's wife and children live in their hometown, Tru Son 4 hamlet, Bach Ha commune. Since her husband fell seriously ill, she was forced to quit her job as a factory worker to care for their three young children. Despite her efforts to support her husband and children, this poor woman lives in tears because of her cruel fate; their eldest child is suffering from acute pneumonia, frequently requiring nebulizer treatment and occasional hospital visits.

Each month, Mr. Thong receives a social welfare allowance of 750,000 VND, while Ms. Nga struggles to raise three young children. The impoverished family has nowhere to turn, having to borrow money from everywhere just to survive. For Ms. Nga, each passing day is a prolonged period of suffering due to their extreme poverty and helplessness.
Out of love for his wife and children, Mr. Thong tries his best to return home once a month to look after the children so his wife can earn a living, but Ms. Nga's wig-making job doesn't bring in much income.

The couple's greatest asset is their cow, which they received as a livelihood support from the government for impoverished households. However, facing hardship and destitution, Mr. Thong and Ms. Nga are considering selling the cow in order to pay for their child's medical treatment. Their small family is teetering on the brink of despair.

In the dilapidated house, the innocent children are too young to fully understand the difficulties their family is facing. Their parents desperately need support to help the family overcome this ordeal.
