(Baonghean.vn) - In the first six months of 2018, the Nghe An Provincial Police proactively established and investigated many major cases, most notably dismantling numerous networks involved in the illegal storage, transportation, and sale of large quantities of narcotics.
On the afternoon of July 2nd, the Nghe An Provincial Police Department held a meeting to review the work of the two-level investigative police agencies for the first six months of 2018. Colonel Nguyen Manh Hung, Deputy Director of the Nghe An Provincial Police Department and Head of the Provincial Police Investigation Agency, chaired the meeting.
In the first quarter of 2018, the two-level investigative agencies performed well in monitoring, forecasting, and handling situations in various fields; the work of directing and guiding professional and legal matters was ensured to be timely. The work of arresting, detaining, investigating, and prosecuting crimes was carried out in accordance with the law, preventing wrongful convictions or major errors; the rate of resolving crime reports and denunciations was high, with the investigation and discovery of crimes against social order reaching nearly 84%; and the rate for very serious and especially serious cases reached 100%.
They proactively established and investigated numerous cases, dismantling many dangerous criminal gangs involved in protection rackets, debt collection, and the use of firearms; and uncovered many large-scale illegal drug trafficking, transportation, and trading networks.

Delivering a directive speech at the Conference, Colonel Nguyen Huu Cau - Director of the Provincial Police - commended the achievements in crime prevention and control by the Provincial Police Investigation Agency, and emphasized that in the coming time, investigation units must actively advise local Party committees and authorities to effectively implement the Resolutions and Directives of the Party, the laws of the State, and the guiding documents of the Ministry of Public Security and the Provincial People's Committee on crime prevention and control;

At the conference, investigative units actively discussed and proposed various measures to overcome limitations and improve the effectiveness of investigative work; continue to promote administrative procedure reform; and proactively grasp the situation at the grassroots level to be ready to deal with sudden and complex security and order situations.
