To facilitate his illegal drug trafficking activities, Vinh bought a K54 pistol to use for collecting debts from drug addicts.

On the afternoon of September 9th, the Criminal Investigation Agency of Tan Bien District Police (Tay Ninh province) arrested Vo Tan Vinh (31 years old, residing in Tan Bien town, Tan Bien district) for illegally possessing military weapons.

The police seized one K54 pistol and a magazine containing two bullets.

According to the initial investigation, due to unemployment and drug addiction, Vinh, along with several other unsavory characters in the area, bought drugs from T for personal use and resold them to other addicts in the district for profit.

If an addict needed drugs but was short of money, Vinh would sell them on credit. To facilitate his illegal drug trafficking activities, Vinh bought the gun from a man named P., to use for collecting debts from addicts who owed him money.

Previously, Vinh had sold drugs to LTT (temporarily residing in Tan Binh commune, Tan Bien district), but T had not paid. In early August 2016, Vinh brought a gun to T's house to demand payment, but T still did not have the money. Immediately, Vinh fired the gun into the air to threaten T.
