Regarding this issue, an officer from the Traffic Police Department of Hanoi City Police told reporters that upon receiving a notification of a traffic violation, the organization or individual involved in the administrative violation must go to the police station to resolve the matter.

"When citizens receive a violation notice, they can go to the Traffic Police Department where the violation was detected, or the Traffic Police Department where they reside, or other locations for processing and resolving traffic violations announced by the Traffic Police Department."

"After arriving at the scene, the traffic police will draw up a record of administrative violations and issue a decision on administrative penalties, and organize the enforcement of the penalty decision in accordance with the law," a traffic police officer informed.

When they come in to work, citizens are also allowed to review their violations.

Therefore, upon receiving a traffic violation notice, citizens must go to the police station to handle the matter. Only after the authorities draw up a report and issue a decision on administrative penalties will they pay the fine as prescribed.

Methods for paying traffic fines after a penalty decision has been issued.

Citizens who have received a decision on administrative penalties for violations can pay the fine through the following methods:

Method 1: Pay cash directly at the State Treasury or at a commercial bank where the State Treasury has an account, as specified in the penalty decision.

Method 2: Transfer the money to the State Treasury account specified in the penalty decision through the National Public Service Portal (https://dichvucong.gov.vn) or the electronic payment service of a bank or intermediary payment service provider.

Method 3: Pay the fine directly to the authorized person as stipulated in Clause 1, Article 56, and Clause 2, Article 78 of the Law on Handling Administrative Violations (in this case, a traffic police officer with the authority to handle traffic violations).

Option 4: Pay the fine through the public postal service.

Method 5: Pay traffic fines through the Ministry of Public Security's Public Service Portal.
