The President sent condolences regarding the TU-154 plane crash.

Upon learning of the crash on December 25th of a Russian TU-154 aircraft en route from Sochi (Russia) to Latakia (Syria), resulting in the deaths of 8 crew members and 84 passengers, President Tran Dai Quang sent a message of condolences to President Vladimir Putin of the Russian Federation on December 26th.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on December 26 that Russia would hold a national day of mourning for the victims of the TU-154 plane crash in the Black Sea on the morning of December 25.

This statement was issued after the Russian Ministry of Defense confirmed that there were no survivors in the accident.

Speaking to the press, President Putin also affirmed that the cause of the accident would be thoroughly investigated and that the families of those killed would be supported.
