On the occasion of the opening ceremony of the 37th General Assembly of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA-37), on behalf of the State and people of Vietnam, President Tran Dai Quang delivered a message to the Assembly.

President Tran Dai Quang emphasized that the 37th AIPA General Assembly is taking place amidst profound and comprehensive changes in the world situation. Alongside the trend of peace, cooperation, and development, the world is facing many severe difficulties and challenges that no single nation is capable of resolving completely. In this context, the ASEAN Community, officially formed in 2015, marks a historical milestone in the ASEAN integration process, demonstrating ASEAN's maturity and strength.

The President highly appreciated the theme of the 37th AIPA General Assembly, "A Vibrant AIPA for a Progressive ASEAN Community," reflecting the desire to promote cooperation among ASEAN countries, creating a solid foundation and strong impetus for ASEAN's development, deeper integration, and more important role in the region. President Tran Dai Quang believes that AIPA, as a forum of the legislative bodies of ASEAN countries, has united and supported ASEAN in achieving its goals in the ASEAN integration process, and will continue to develop and innovate its agenda in a vibrant manner, strengthen cooperation with parliaments outside the region, and proactively and actively enhance support and connectivity with ASEAN governments in implementing the goals set out in the ASEAN Vision 2025.

In its foreign relations, Vietnam consistently pursues an independent, self-reliant, peaceful, cooperative, and developmental foreign policy, multilateralizing and diversifying its relations, actively and proactively integrating into the international community, and is ready to be a friend, a reliable partner, and a responsible member of the international community. For its part, the Vietnamese National Assembly will continue to contribute effectively to the overall development of AIPA and ASEAN, helping to enhance ASEAN's position in the region and on the international stage.

The President expressed his confidence that, under the chairmanship of the AIPA-37 Chairman, with the close cooperation of the delegates and the thorough preparation of the Myanmar Parliament, the 37th AIPA General Assembly will be a great success, contributing to peace, stability, prosperity and comprehensive development of ASEAN.
